AI is the next big thing

Way to go Mark!

My company is laying roughly 30% of its workforce off in the coming months and I will almost certainly be part of that. They’re going to tell investors it’s because of AI, but I’m familiar enough with the company’s financials to know better.

Nice one mate

30% is brutal.

Hopefully you can get a good severance package if it comes to
pass.

Best of luck.

Ok trading firms have to have bots that are just trained to buy companies that put out a press release with “AI” in the body text at this point there can be no other explanation

Wow, that’s really out there. Had no idea it was that easy to raise
capital and game the market with just 2 letters.

There was a time when “blockchain” was the keyword.

My boy @norbert been quiet last few weeks

DAYUM I wish I could be back in college like I was 30+ years ago, and taking THIS class at the Weatherhead School.

I just don’t see it, plus why take that risk?

I don’t see it either. Sounds like sci-fi to me!

Because it is sci fi

Musk, Thiel and Altman cosplay as futurists engineers or coders when the reality is they are all just investors who frankly don’t know what they’re talking about most of the time

Do you work for the company that is splitting in two?

No. However, my company is a result of a merger. There are rumors that we may split up and get sold. But it’s just a rumor as of now.

Glad you made it. I think sales is the place to be at software companies. Everything else is being replaced by AI.

Internal Tech Emails on X: “Sam Altman texts Mira Murati November 19, 2023 https://t.co/Yr4WPwMWny” / X

I recently started using Claude AI. I think I like this one better than ChatGPT, CoPilot, etc.

I’m interviewing for a job. It’s done a great job of helping me prepare with questions to the interviewer, my thank you notes, and follow up emails. If you haven’t noticed from my posts, I am a terrible writer. I can edit somebody else pretty well, but I suck. I fed Claude my notes from the interview and it generated the emails. All I had to do was make a few changes, so it was really my “voice”.

I also have to prepare a presentation. My PowerPoint skills are infinitely worse than my writing skills. I think a 3rd grader can build a better deck than I can. I fed Claude the criteria for my presentation, the color scheme I wanted, and my thoughts on what I want to present along with my time hour for the presentation. It was awesome! I asked Claude to make some changes and I am now 90% of the way there. The last 10% is on me. I’m very comfortable with that.
