Never saw the evidence, in this article, that he actually was involved in the bets…
He was.
He had a guy placing bets and was actually on the phone with him while the guy was at the sports book.
Alabama was favored in the game as their #1 starter was set to pitch……he actually had the guy bet AGAINST his team……then proceeded to not pitch his top guy with” back tightness” and pitched a guy that had not thrown in over a month….LSU won.
Worse than Pete Rose……everything I ever read said Pete never bet against his team.

It’s one thing to place a bet on your team to win … it’s another thing entirely when you place a bet on your team to lose. If proven (reported evidence looks very damning), the guy will never coach again.
