Was in a Sams Club yesterday. I noticed how the TV section had shrunk noticeably. I’d say it was 40% the size since I was last there.
On the bright side, I bought a 55" tv 5 years ago for $700. It has been, knock on wood, problem free for all 5 years. Yesterday, I picked up the same TV for $248. They only had 3 left
Tariff chatter tanking the markets this morning - 50% tariff on EU starting June 1. 25% tariff on future iPhones not made in the US. For Apple, cheaper to pay the tariff? It’s not even 7:30.

This is EXACTLY what I’ve been talking about in the EV thread.
New tech is high priced. Early adopters buy it. Production increases which lowers cost so…More people buy them and production again increases and lowers cost …so more people by them…so production increases …and on and on.
One day you’ll be amazed at the low price you paid for your EV.
To prove your point, in 2006 we bought a 50" Panasonic (plasma, still working) 720p for a bit more than $4,000 from Best Buy. Today a 50" 4k Samsung Smart TV is around $350.

Not surprising especially when you realize a 32" tube TV could weight 200lbs while a 50" hdtv today can weigh about 30lbs. Freight cost alone saves a decent amount of money.
Literally less to them. And the tech things that makes them better is normal production products, ie nothing special anymore.

My 50” Panasonic is still working but I just bought a 50” Roku for $178. And they’re all Chinese.
