I honestly had never seen Iowa State play in anything (football or basketball) before we joined the Big 12 BUT since joining, they’ve become a fun team to play against!
You’re missing out if you don’t at least watch Iowa-ISU in football. El Assico throws out all rankings, all records, and all common sense. It’s so bad it circles back to being exciting to watch.
I have some close friends from Cedar Rapids. They’re all about the Hawkeyes. I have found myself rooting for ISU just to jovially irritate my friends. Otherwise, I have no allegiance to the Cyclones and am unable to muster any Cyclone favoritism except that which helps further the Coogs’ cause…
