AP Top 25: UH is #2 for Week of March 17th - Final AP Regular Season Poll

@olutrain i did hear Parrish on a recent podcast, say his rankings reflect resume.

So, he keeps us at 18th cause UH is 2-3 in quad 1.

And others above us have more Q1 wins. Its a fair opinion.

However, his Memphis Tigers have 0 Quad 1 remaining. While Houston has about 10 Q1 remaining in the regular season

I think most probably have Houston as a 4 seed right now.

We do have 2 Q1 wins now. He did say he was waiting for that kind of win.

UCF is a bubble team at this point.

EVERY team in the top 20 is tough, but I think #7 is about where we should be.

To be fair basically every team outside the top 5 has several really weird pollsters having them really low or unranked. Like Marquette has someone who has them unranked which is mad. This late in the season is wild to see such all over the place rankings

Not fair. UCF is tough and should get in easy.

One of the broadcasters during the Baylor -TCU game mentioned UH as flying under the radar.

Yeah, one of the most dominant teams/programs in college basketball the last 6-8 years, definitely a surprise and unexpected.

Well, we dropped as far as #15. We haven’t lost since. We’re up to #7 in the AP poll. You look at Net rankings and we’re near the top. All the experts still have us as a #4 seed, still behind Kansas.

Add to all of this, we’re still not 100% healthy. In two weeks, if we’re 10-0 in conference, we won’t be sneaking up on anyone anymore.

Under the radar ≠ Surprised/unexpected. What Fran is talking about is that most, if not all, of the college basketball media is focused on other top tier teams as potential title contenders and national championship favorites which is allowing us to not have that target on our back and the pressure that comes with such an expectation. We’re being allowed to cook and let our team continue to develop without being over analyzed/criticized game to game or for a performance like Saturday’s. It also gives us the ability to play the underdog bit and have a chip on our shoulders. All of this is a good thing. And Fraschilla meant it as a good thing.

I’m perfectly happy letting media drool over Duke and Cooper, Auburn and Broome, and the others for the time being. We’ll be center stage soon enough.

Well good for you. Just trying to rise above it all after your Vick smackdown (all too transparent) with an easy and elaborate simplicity.

We are not currently getting much attention from the media given the way we started the year losing three of the first seven. It ended up being a blessing in disguise. Not sure the last time we started the season 4-3 but the important thing is we have won our last 10. The rest of the teams in the Big 12 know who we are and that is what matters.

We are 6-0 and the only undefeated left in conference play. Last year we won the conference in our first year. We are going to get everyone’s best shot. Like we witnessed at UCF. Like our chances with CKS at the helm.

I have heard a few analyst making comments not to sleep on UH and that we are still a team to be considered.

Being called under the radar is not a slight.

So the Auburn game went down to the final minute (Auburn has been #1 for a few weeks) and the Bama game went to OT (they’ve been a top 5 team this season) and bozos in the media are saying “we’re flying under the radar” or saying we’re a 4 seed? Alright then.

Stop looking for insult where there is none. It ain’t that deep.

This is clownish. If today was Selection Sunday then we’re a 4 seed based on our current resume and the resumes of others. Last time I checked, even though both those games came down to the wire they were still losses, making our best win as of now metrics mid-30s West Virginia. We still have plenty of opportunity to move up seed lines.

Under the radar is better than being over rated.

Everybody is good and there will always be deserving teams getting screwed. I think UCF is IN unless they implode in the next month

Go ask any coach in America if they think Coach Sampson’s team is “flying under the radar” this year?
