Not the same thing but I knew a guy whose parents bought a hill in the Quachita mountains. They started building and they saw scorpions during the build but thought it was just some seasonal thing. About the time they began to move in they had scorpions coming through every nook and cranny at night. They tried everything to remediate but left after four months and now just use the property for four-wheeling.
I have scorpions, but you can beat them back with some persistence, insecticide and diatomaceous earth. Fire just makes them tougher, I think.
I also have tarantulas, but I think they’re kind of cool.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend, I say to myself when I see spiders in the house. Whatever eats cockroaches gets the red carpet treatment.
