Arizona Wildcats brace for All-America DT Ed Oliver, Houston’s one-man wrecking

““Almost all offenses, if you have a nose tackle that’s coming in and getting in your face, that’s really hard,” Rhett Rodriguez said. “I think we’re going to have some different strategies to make sure he can’t singlehandedly change the game.””

They’re going to test our OLBs and safeties bouncing it outside and with bubble screens. We’ll be ready. They’re going to have to be able to pass the ball down field to beat us.

“They’ll throw a screen away from him, and he’ll still run and at least get a hand on the guy.”

That quote says it all about the effort Oliver put in all year long.

Arizona isn’t a “run between the tackles” kind of team so they’ll definitely be trying to test us on the outside.

We generally surprise teams with our speed to the edge. Like the Oklahoma game last year, I imagine we may give up a home run or two, but keep the score below a number that we can surpass. I am not looking for style points, but a W. I like our chances with a healthy squad against most teams.

I think the strength of our offense will be the offensive line. We have some upperclassmen that have been in the weight room for a while now. We should be able to get good push when running the ball against their undersized front 7.

If the strength of our offensive this year is our OL, we’ll win at least 10 games. I’ll take it.
