They deserve all the support they can get.
Been out there the last few days - they’re fun to watch and all personable. Coach Gumm is a rising superstar that has turned down multiple ‘bigger’ jobs because she wants to build something here.
Walked most of today with a two players. Spent about an hour with Eddie Nuñez watching everyone come through #14.
Natalie Saint Germain is playing the best golf in her college career and is tied for the lead. Maelynn Kim played great for 31 holes but struggled coming in. Hyeonji Kang made some bad decisions/swings today but her short game bailed her out. Late in the day it caught up with her and she made an 8. Really like her game.
A real chance to win a Big 12 title tomorrow.

Feeling confident about the women’s programs going forward. Tennis has me feeling excited. Hopefully there will be a change in softball. Soccer, not as informed as I would hope to be.
I started out just wanting us to finish in the top 25. A conference championship is pretty heady stuff though.
Tournament goes live on ESPN+ at 11:30. The team is not off to a good start, sitting at +4 thru thee holes. We’ve fallen back to 4th, 5 back of the leader. A lowly of golf left to play.
Wind is gusting and UH players aren’t handling it well, but a triple came from a greenside bunker and a double from middle of the fairway.
Moa hit a perfect second shot into downwind par-5 fourth but hit front fringe - a foot from perfect - and it checked, stopped, and backed down the hill into a hazard. She felt she couldn’t play this:
That said, everyone is backing up - and UH is down (scoreboard-wise) just 3 shots. About to start getting more numbers after #6.
Arizona is -1 but they were -4 through 4 holes yesterday and shot +11 (295) for the round.
Golf standings are always so fluid, I figured they would probably run into some hiccups today. Too bad.
Earlier I’m almost posted that the worst we could do is 6th because we were 23 strokes ahead of Kansas State who was in 7th. We were in 3rd at the time. Well they passed us and now we’re looking at a 7th place finish.
