Bag stolen

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse was stolen with thousands in cash on Sunday night at a restaurant in Washington D.C., multiple sources from the agency confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The purse was taken by a White man wearing a mask, and the bag contained $3,000 in cash as well as personal documents including her passport, keys, driver’s license and a DHS badge, an agency spokesperson confirmed.

“Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren – she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts,” the spokesperson said.

I wonder where her security detail was?

Who walks around with $3,000 in cash ? Drug dealers I’d guess; maybe some
small business owners that are doing deposits. Just seems like a poor choice to
carry that much cash around when going out socially.

There’s only a few reasons to carry that much cash, even if meant to spend. None of the non-suspicious ones seem to apply here.

She’ll be OK. We’ve seen that watch.

Yeah, no clue why she’d need to carry that much cash. Really poor choice.

She has a SS detail, and someone got close enough to steal her bag, lots of security questions. Also, where did she get her gangster roll? Does she not carry credit cards?

I do hope they catch whoever did it though.

My first thought was $3k was a lot of cash, but for Easter gifts and dining for the whole extended family at an expensive DC restaurant I can see it. On Easter our party of 3 spent $300 for 1 drink each, appetizers and entrees at Eddie V’s in Austin. It’s nice but still a chain and Texas prices. Cash would also preclude the inquiries sure to come up about a government account paying for it. Still where was her security?

What are you talking about? She would still have her own bank accounts and credit lines that are in her own name and completely separate from any government pay card she might have access to. Carrying that much cash around is sus af.

How would putting it on her personal credit card result in inquiries about govt paying for it?

Reply to O S above. I was being a bit snarky about some observer not being a fan of her’s questioning who she was charging it to.

O - I am not familiar with that slang meaning. Can you give a hint. Thanks

Sus = Suspicious
AF = As the F word

Thanks

I’d love to see how this went down. Either the thief is the dumbest luckiest person on earth or has balls like Randy Marsh.

As someone on X wrote, sometimes you have to pay for the Dalmatians with cash.

Are traveler’s checks still a thing?

I have to admit this is pretty funny.

Top notch!

Who was it that said only criminals or gang members casually carry that kind of cash?

What are the chances she had the $3,000 on her to help the homeless.
