Got a note from Cougar Pride that the 50/50 gear was in the mail.
I started emailing everyone in athletics, cougar pride and marketing nearly a year ago that I hoped to get a 2025 version of this keychain as a giveaway. Never even got a reply. Such a simple thing that wouldâve been so cool.
I emailed about that tooâŠmy former rep was so good, she did reply. Really always went above and beyond.
My email:
Do you happen to know if they are going to do this Keychain promo this year? I have attached a photo, we got them at a game in 2021. I would be happy to buy one.
Thanks!
Her reply:
This year, we did not do the keychains and instead did a rally towel with the years UH has hit the final four.
Let me know if you did not get one, I have an extra in my desk!
Ahh that explains it. I donât get too excited about a rally towel at this point. Haha
A rally towel. Wow!!! Coog fans will be leaving the bedside of dying spouses or children, multimillion dollar deal closings, missing their daughters weddings to royalty, just to get to that Cougar home game with Mississippi Valley State to keep their perfect attendance intact.
Need to give out the sloid white with red dots GVL towels. Letâs embrace ourselves in the past.
I think I have at least one, maybe more, GVL polka dot towels stashed away in a closet somewhere, when UH gave them for free at games years ago.
I have a couple polka dot towels as well
Yawn. So letâs gloss over the broken commitment for perfect attendance day and promote Cougar Pride Day.
I get it, we need more money. But why not fulfill our commitments before we ask for more?
To be fair, the Perfect Attendance thing was separate from Cougar Pride, but why wonât anyone in the ticket office address this?
If someone screwed up and just didnât get it schedule, own it. Just ignoring it is a really bad look for an organization thatâs trying to help build a fanbase.
If I signed up for a payment plan to cover CP donations then canceled my credit card, would that be cool?
Once upon a time, I had several of those white w/red dot towels. Those were the days. Now days might be better, but Iâm older and miss the good olâ days.
I miss Samson taking off the tie. Guessing how long it would stay on. Itâs the little things that make it fun and special.
I emailed the general email since I no longer have a rep, their reply:
We are working on finalizing details for a MBB perfect attendance celebration, and will be sending additional communication about the event to those who qualified shortly.
I would have loved if they would have combined it with the Spring game this Saturday. Would have got more butts in the stands for the scrimmage, honor those who made the effort to make sure the seats were filled, and also given a general goal/desire to all others to go do the same in basketball AND football.
