For those of you that want to make a weekend out of it there are plenty of nice hotels in Waco, but only a couple are within easy walking distance of the stadium. I recommend staying downtown and riding the Tailgater Shuttle in.
I will be staying at the Hilton which is across the street from both the shuttle stop and the Spice Village which upstairs is a Boutique mall my wife likes and downstairs is a handful of restaurants my favorites being Ninfa’s and Cricket’s a sportsbar with like 40 taps.
My family will be making it in on Friday and plan on watching the Aggie vs Longhorn game at Crickets.
There are a ton of family oriented things to do in Waco, its a fun road trip if you have never been and the stadium is beautiful.
Went to Auburn @ Baylor earlier this year, the tailgate shuttle worked like a dream. Only downside was that there was a pretty long line postgame, but it cleared out quick. Strongly recommend.
Does the stadium staff check tickets if I end up wanting to switch seats? I’m a student so the only ticket I can really afford is the general admission grass seating behind the endzone, but I’m hoping Baylor fans really don’t show up so I can sit somewhere else.
I thought about that option as well. However, my understanding (from brief online research) is that the grass seating is completely separate from the rest of the stadium, so you won’t have the option to go grab another seat. It’s a separate entrance, with separate restroom and concessions from the rest of the stadium.
It’s like they deliberately designed it with consideration of our cheap Coogfans behavior.
Don’t take my word for it, though. I’ve not been to the stadium. Someone who’s been there should confirm.

You can get $25 tickets in the upperdeck on Stubhub and Stubhub is really grinding the sellers right now to lower prices (They are doing things like saying the lowest price in your section is lower then it really is), I would check everyday and somebody will dump some tickets cheaper.
I appreciate that you are a student and want to make a road trip. We need thousands more just like you.

For breakfast I like the Magnolia Table which pretty much needs a reservation to get into so book it now.
For lunch there are few interesting choices
Jake’s Texas Tea House - an old school diner
Terry Black’s Barbeque - this is new
Twisted Root Burger Co. - crazy burgers like Rodeo Goat
Health Camp - My only Baylor friend recommended, I have never been, another diner
For those of you who haven’t bought tickets yet, note that tickets tend to be cheapest around Tuesday to Thursday of game week, unless you want to take the gamble that they’ll plummet the day of the game. Unless Baylor goes on a heater over the next month, it’s probably a good idea to hold off.
