Coog Crew is nonexistent now haha. And same, I’m just now an alum and I managed to get into Football but Basketball, unfortunately nope.
On the bright side, every game should be on television/internet. That wasn’t the case not too long ago.
Things should be a lot better next year.
Very true. I remember listening to a lot of road games on the radio, in particular our road game @ UAB in 2008 where Fluff dropped 41 in a two point loss that basically ended our at large hopes that year.
Yeah you can thank the athletic department for killing Coog Crew. They tried to take it over instead of just letting it be an regular college organization like so many others on campus. This happened a few years after I left. It sucks too because Coog Crew was doing very well when I was there, then UH made some dumb moves that killed it.
I have 2 extra tickets to the UH vs Boise State game. I bought 3 of them on stub hub for a marked-up price of $54 each. I just want to sell 2 of them for the same price. I would have bought only 1 because I do not mind going to games alone (I am going to the Lamar game alone), but the tickets are not being sold separately on stub hub. If you/anyone you know is interested let me know.
If you don’t mind me asking, what did they attempt? Apparently at one point they managed to get Craig Biggio to show up, but other than that, many of those that I talked to that were part of each ‘iteration’ (1.0, 2.0) just didn’t know what to do in the latter ones. The earlier ones, they said it just ‘died off’.
That is part of the reason why I wanted to make Coogs of CV3 as unofficial as possible, but thankfully athletics wanted to work us to work WITH them instead of FOR them since we tend to be too rowdy at games and on campus.
I wasn’t there and had graduated when it went down to be fully in the know. I have just heard from friends that were leaders of Coog Crew that the Athletic Department tried to take control of Coog Crew instead of letting it just be a student organization like it had been.
Gotcha. I know our first advisor (Boudwin) who really let us keep control of our org, as is Muse (who aided spirit orgs in his past), are great about us letting it stay organic. Boudwin complained about Coog Crew and Bleacher Creatures not really responding to him. We were motivated haha
Our reasons also include spirit outside of athletics and alumni involvement. The Coogs of CV3 is a WHOLE project involving the entire University community. We’re wanting to reach out to everyone.
I feel for the diehard fans who cant get in. I have a season ticket and I did not go to UH. But I have had FB season tickets in 129 since the stadium opened and several years before that. I guess indirectly I have given plenty of money over the last few years.
I wont be at the South Carolina game. If the guy I go with doesnt want it I will post on this thread. Stubhub does not allow me to put 1 ticket up for sale at least right now. I would have to transfer it directly.
I can’t make it today…if anyone needs some tickets message me.
I only missed two home games last year and it is killing me that I can’t attend one game in what has the potential to be one of our best seasons since Phi Slama Jama. Same way with football. Had only missed around 5 home games in 10+ years and that attendence record has been destroyed this year. I get upset and frustrated when I miss a game. Ughhh!!!
Sorry I meant the Temple game on Dec 22
I’d like to buy a ticket for one of the upcoming home games against South Carolina, Sam Houston, Rice or UCF. Season ticket holder the last two seasons, but didn’t make the 25% cut this year.
