BCS rankings (simulated) vs Committee

THAT BS program, nor the metrics, were EVER made public…

You mean like every other division of football and every other SPORT? They can’t manipulate that so they use words like “Resume” and “Eye test”…Total Bovine Excrement! The only need for a committee is to assign seeding and pick the at large teams, the rest should be your conference champions.

How often do they change it and who decides that? By the looks of it just getting on the committee appears to be a political campaign - a problem in itself.

ESPN folks complained about the computers… but the Computers were the best part.

Well of course ESPN complained, Fox controlled the BCS.

Mississippi State is the happiest team after last night? Alabama, Michigan State and Oregon are pretty happy too. The Ducks moved up five spots. With a loss at Stanford and close wins to Fresno, LA, Cal and tOSU, it seems like they won’t go the distance.

It wasn’t one program, it was 6 different programs put together by people outside of the NCAA or networks. They still post their rankings and of course wont release their algorithm because that is their business. I find it weird people are complaining about the computers when they were the ones who consistently ranked BCS Non-AQ teams, now G5, higher than the human polls. Much higher than this committee. That is the reason that ESPN wanted to get rid of them. A lot of people gave them reason to get rid of them because they didn’t understand how they worked and just assumed bias. They were the least biased by far, if you could even point out any bias.

As coach Yeoman once said, “The only way a non-P5 school gets in the playoff would be if they were undefeated, untied and unscored on”

And all P5’s had at least 2 losses.
