J_Coog thank you for bringing this up…but the same espn has the BIG12 media rights along with FOX Sports.
So espn does a great production job with the sec but not with the BIG12? Explain that one to me.
Now it is, but not in September
ESPN didn’t cover why we were wearing blue like they usually do, showing an old police car, city flag, or anything. They did bring up the SpaceU uniforms UCF wears once a year and talked about how much they like them.
No but I’m old and grouchy and don’t want to be driving at 1 am lol. And then there is church Sunday morning
Big difference between owning a property and sharing the rights. ESPN doesn’t do the production for most of the non-SEC broadcasts - they have farmed that out to the schools. That is why we had to set up everything for ESPN+ upon entry into the Big XII.
I’ll give you a little “inside” on this a vast number of televised games are sub contracted. This is why you see a lot of espn+ games that look like the pee wee elementary school of journalism broadcasting these games.
The difference between what espn spends on the sec/big10 and BIG12 must staggering.
It is. The difference is that they see SEC as an investment, and everything else as a cost.
So by your logic you purposely “dilute” your product?
…and I would agree to that comparing FOX Sports and TNT production vs espn production when it comes to a BIG12 games. The quality is night and day.
Turns out we didn’t have to beat K-State to get that slot
When we have a game on ESPN, i cannot imagine them not doing everything from top to bottom, including production.
