With coaching hires, I’ve learned the following:
If your new coach comes with his own fans, you’ve hit a home run.
If your new coach comes with another fan base warning you and/or laughing at you, you done messed up, son.

I always thought it was one million. If the new contract changed that oh the administration F up big time.
The buyout after the extension is MUCH higher. It would cost over $10MM to fire Dana.
He’s likely here until 2024 at the earliest, probably 2025.

Damn… After one good season after the previous three were bad, that’s his buyout. DAMN. Coach Sampson is a much better coach and more accomplished and his ain’t no where as high.
His agent saw us coming… that we got accepted into the Big 12 and made the buyout ridiculous high. Keep in mind we’re still technically a G5 school and won’t receive no payout from the Big 12 until 2024/25 at the earliest. Yikes!!!

I knew extending him after last year was a big mistake, now we are in trouble. Losing is not considered just cause for termination lol

As long as cupcakes fill most of our schedule, Dana will do the absolute minimum and we’ll have a winning season. It will keep him safe until we get into the Big 12.
The administration thinks I’m a sucker. I guess I am since I’m 75% sure I’ll get season tickets again next year.
Oh well, we will find out who the real Coog fans are Saturday against Rice. See some of you guys there lol
