I have two of my best buddies flying to Houston from out of state. I am hoping for a late afternoon or a night game so we can get a full day of tailgating.
It’s looking like 11.
Kick off time will be announced six days before the game. Game times are set by the TV networks. No one here will be able to provide any meaningful insight as to when the game will start.
I saw that that whole conference is on 6-day hold… ![]()
Prepare for an 11am kickoff, that is the rumor floating around, it may get better if we win.
This guy has a blog that projects the timeslots he has the open timeslots listed but the bad news is 1/3 of the available slots are 11am:
If we lose Saturday then for sure it’s 11am
Think we beat ASU
Sets up a ESPN prime time kick
Lord, I hope not. The Arizona game was more like the middle of July than October. It was 96 degrees when I got to the car. Little to no cloud cover. Happily the Coogs won which made everything OK.
It might be 20 degrees cooler when that game rolls around.
There were times Saturday when the breeze made it not bad. The rest of the time was tough but tolerable.
The CU game was borderline lovely for Houston a month ago… but that’s Houston for you.
Meanwhile I thought about wearing a sweatshirt for my run at noon.
Forecast is currently 64/79 or 58/77, so at least it won’t be too hot.
Lovely!
It depends on if Nunez is going grouse hunting Saturday afternoon.
Bingo!
if it is ESPN plus can UH make it a night game? West Virginia games will be the last or next to last slot no matter who they play.
The conference’s lone ESPN+ game (OSU at Kansas) is the only game that is not on a 6 day hold. The timeslots are(Matt Sarzyniak’s guess):
11am FS1 (our game)
11am TNT (UCF at Baylor)
2:30 FOX (Cinn at Utah)
6:00 FS1 (Tech at Kansas State @7)
9:30 ESPN (He had an ACC game but he had Arizona at Colorado on ESPN 2 @7)
Another mystery slot (maybe FOX primetime if there is no game 7) (He had ASU at ISU @2:30 on ESPN but he is now projecting that is an SEC game)
11am is dumb. People don’t even watch that at home out of fear they’re gonna see McNeese vs Southern Illinois.
Also the 11am timeslot puts us up against Vandy @ Texas, Penn State @ OSU & Rutgers @ Illinois.
I’d say 11 is a safe bet. We never get any respect
There are some pretty good match up that week and we are playing the 15th place team in the conference, if everything goes according to plan it won’t be close. I don’t think that is disrespect, putting the game on ESPN+ would be disrespect.
