texas senator, went to harvard, a byu shirt ? well, if colleges can get players paidin some fashion; only a matter of time before politicians joined in.
Clearly AI or photoshopped
He’ll be running for President in 2028.
He’s just “making the rounds”…
BYU crumbl’d under the pressure ![]()
Sorry had to throw that one out there (wanted BYU to beat Tech
)
Too soon and too delicious…
I can hear the snow crunching from here. ![]()
Saw these TV viewers totals for the regular season on an ACC board. Apparently at least one poster now thinks ISU may be a good target for the ACC.
ISU did good at the top of the list. and I am happy to see Tech not at the top of the list in their championship year. I expected to see BYU higher.
B12 Rating Rankings

I would post the link but not sure about posting to another message board on this one. They did have complete breakdowns of every game by week for each school. I am just sharing the totals.
I also share this as bowl execs have this info too. UH was lower than they should have been which might play into bowl positioning.
PS. to add for Big 12 talk/gossip. If anyone reads the Tech boards (at least one I was reading), they were going on a lot about how they could finally beat TCU in the ratings and shut the Frogs up. Yet in the last week, they only drew 895K in their game vs WVU, while TCU drew 2.74M vs Cincy to pass Tech on season totals.
This is yet another place those 11 am kickoffs come back to bite us.
tcu does well for such a small college, really market themselves.
Yes TCU has billboards ,merch and fans scattered throughout Ft Worth area. They are quite visible for a small uni.
Go Coogs
George’s Pastaria!
TCU fans are not limited to Fort Worth which is why they get better ratings. That is the key to media ratings. Local has a bigger impact on attendance.
Many years on East coast in CUSA, many on West Coast with WAC and MWC, Many years of 11+ wins and competing for impossible BCS slots. Rose Bowl, Fiesta and Peach bowl wins, Plus good marketing has allowed them to get name recognition by viewers outside of Fort Worth.
Also look at the last 3 games by Tech this year and compare to TCU last 3 regular season games in 2022. TCU had over 4 million viewers in each, while Tech only got 900K their final game this year,
I add details as this is what it will take for UH to get to the top. Lots of wins (I expect these to be in the near future) and good marketing (not sure about this one). After the Rose bowl TCU took out ads in LA thanking them for having the Frogs and have done similar after other bowls for an example.
They tried to keep us off the field, had to get a couple of the “security” detail fired
So much for the conference nobody’s paying attention to:
The Texas Tech vs. BYU Big 12 Championship game on December 6, 2025, set the record for the largest attendance at any conference championship game with 85,519 fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This crowd surpassed previous records for Power Four conference title games and marked the first Big 12 title for Texas Tech
Ive said this before, but viewership ratings (per school) are MASSIVELY overrated. OSU at the bottom, a team that was at or near the top for years, basically proves that assertion.
What matters is the quality of the team, channel, time slot, and the quality of the opponent/game. Iowa State used to have OSU numbers because they faced the same predicament OSU di this year. Their previous season was a nightmare, which then leads to non-network games, poor time slots, and apathy from their fans and the college football viewers. Iowa State came off a good season, had a lot of prime network/time slot games, and was a more appealing view (largely on perception for the casual fan). Its not surprising the ratings were high.
Its all about the perception of being a good team, having a good matchup, and having favorable broadcast conditions. For network games the majority of viewers arent fans of either team. They are the casual CFB fan that wants to watch a good game.
Lot of good info in your post, but the first statement is off. Ratings cannot be massively overrated if they are the main factor in the media contracts. Those individual ratings go into deciding what schools get what slots and channels. What can a media provider expect each week from any particular school is based upon expected ratings from historical and context and current play. Also what can be expected from each school over the length of the next contract.
It is not just being a good team or the top team would always have the highest ratings.
