Big 12 Football 2025-2026

I wasn’t in the meetings, but they wanted purple in the stands. Hence the name. ALL schools want more of their own fans in their own stadium. ALL schools employ various marketing techniques to sell more tickets. Mini plans is very common among sports programs. They did not kick out or refuse entry to other fans. That is silly and stupid arguments for the sake of simply bad mouthing or making someone look bad.

As WhoWeTalkinBout pointed out, the online ticket sites that are main street such as seatgeek and stubhub have verification to only sell the tickets that can be transferred.

I had hoped the BYU whining was left in the WAC and MWC, but I am beginning to think my not wanting the school in the Big 12 might have been founded in the first place.

I think it’s well within TCU’s rights to do. Clearly this was a sore spot for you. Sorry. I didn’t mean to offend.

If there was any actual incident of TCU (or other schools) blocking entrance to a fan because of the color of their shirt, that would be bad for the school doing it and wrong.

I find it offensive when people push false narratives of a school. That includes TCU and UH, but also other schools as well (maybe not Baylor). It does not benefit college sports in any way and is insulting to intelligent fans of all schools.

Actually I find pushing lies to be rude and despicable beyond college sports as it can do irrevocable damage to individuals and good businesses as well. I don’t imagine you would disagree with that.

Tough break for the Baylor team. Promising RB Dawson Pendergrass, Baylor’s second leading rusher and receiver out of the backfield, sustained a foot injury and will miss the season. Last year against UH, Pendergrass had 14 carries for 41 yards in a 20-10 Baylor win.

Regardless of the color of his jersey, I hope he is able to play football again.

I’m not a stub hub lawyer. I saw the school saying they might cancel tickets and I passed.

You are doing a good job explaining it but it shouldn’t be a surprise we take it this way.

The policy posted above is what a fan finds when they look at visiting.

That’s pretty awful. Looks like he was going to be RB #2

The entire story is:

  1. TCU wanted to keep it purple
  2. TCU said you can’t resell tickets in that package
  3. Away fans (byu) were worried they’d accidentally buy a ticket part of that package and not get in due to TCU’s policy
  4. We stopped patronizing TCU because of it
  5. We wish TCU would welcome visiting fans

Maybe we were naive in step 3, idk. However, I never said anything poor about TCU or their fans. They are well within their right to try and keep it purple. However, they had a public clause around those games that said “TCU reserves the right to review all transactions and revoke tickets/parking from any account determined by TCU, in its sole discretion, to be a violation of TCU policies or intent. No refund, exchange or credit will be given.” Many fans felt that meant they could be turned away at the gate for a blue or orange shirt.

TCU never turned people away for that.

Even if they did, it’s clear in their policy.

It’s unfortunate EndlessPurple felt we were attacking TCU because that wasn’t my intent at all.

I love visiting venues as an away fan and experiencing their gameday atmosphere, but also the culture of the area. I loved calling out the Hogs at Arkansas and woo pig souie. I loved seeing Allen field house sitting above the field at Kansas. I loved Boulevarding at SMU. I loved the moment of loudness at Utah to remember those who have passed on before. I loved Touchdown Jesus and the golden helmets. I look forward to experiencing Ralphie’s run and learning about Jack trice stadium and learning about those areas.

Over the years I’ve gone to sites recommended by fans that taught history of the school or area, walked over a dozen campuses, and even shared a couple meals at local restaurants or breweries.

I hope to do that at TCU one day. I don’t hold any ill will or anger towards TCU. I don’t think they did anything wrong.

I also don’t hold anything against endless purple for thinking I’m whiny. He’s probably right.

Go cougs, frogs, and Coogs

My last post on it:

I did see an email that there was a message from you here, but I do not see a message here in my message box to reply there.

I am only pointing out that no one was turned away due to fandom. That is just some imaginary issue by Tech and BYU fans. The rest is a TCU sales plan for tickets that has been used many places both college and pro.

This type of statement is on almost every ticket you buy to any event. These types of statements have been around since I was a kid going to concerts. Allows for turning away the people in tiny bikinis, see through tops, 3 AR-15s over their shoulder, completely wasted or other confrontational or safety issues.

I tried to make my post more general BYU fans and not call out anyone specific on this forum. I tried.

Last: Found this statement on the BYU athletic site for single game tickets this 2025 season:
" While season tickets are no longer available, fans will still have the opportunity to attend games. Single-game tickets will will go on sale beginning July 23 at … Tickets will be available for all games except the game against Utah on Oct. 18."

How are Utah fans supposed to get tickets? (rhetorical, I don’t really care)

Let’s move on to more interesting football topics.

Some insider context to this fun and accurate take on Rocco Becht. He’s a cool story:

1)Dad was a 1st round NFL pick at TE, and West Virginia HOFer. He’s also the current HC of the St. Louis Battlehawks.
2)Rocco was 100% a WVU fan and would have committed to WVU had they offered. Him and his dad admitted as much. WVU recruited him, but never offered a scholarship.
3)ISU was Rocco’s only power offer, and he was even more particularly unheralded than most 3 stars at ISU. That’s saying a lot for his humble beginnings, because if there’s a program that actually pays legitimate attention to lightly recruited 3 stars, it’s probably ISU.
4)He was in fact 3rd string at one point his 2nd season (RS frosh) the same season he was thrust into the starting job, behind a 4 star legacy and a JUCO walk-on no less! In fact, he was probably 4th string if you consider the original starter Dekkers pre-scandal.

He runs hard and is pretty crafty. Pretty productive guy from the jump if I remember correctly. Tough loss for Baylor.

Isn’t this called putting a positive spin on being dissed by the AP Polls? I think Baylor is trying too hard with this effort.

Well, early reports from practice is that BYU football won’t be any good on offense.

I’m very excited to see what we do on offense… with all of our talented backs, TEs and WRs we should be legit this season.

Obviously, oline is the major question mark… but I don’t think Willie is going to let us go into the season without a line that isn’t prepared.

I am a Fritz believer. I think 8-9 wins is very possible

this is how I picture what this would look like in practice:

“Hey, that line looks prepared. Get em outta there! Gimme the unprepared one!”
Coach, we have no idea what we’re supposed to do on this play…
“That’s more like it… the ol’ drunken monkey technique. Can’t counter it, nobody will see it coming… Ok son, we’re gonna run Chinese Fire Drill on two…and we’re gonna KEEP running it until nobody has the slightest clue what the h3ll’s going on. We’ll do it all night if we have to!”
