Big 12 / SEC / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 2)

UT & OU didn’t wipe out the Big12. The astuteness in which the remaining B12 members finding the best new leader for their conference (Yormark).

Joel Platt’s explanation covers all of this. Yormark knew what first priority was and Kliavkoff didn’t.

The Nazi bit is old and it was never funny.

Never forget.

The University Presidents/Chancellors and Larry Scott created this fiasco long before USC and UCLA decided to jump to the B1G. They had numerous chances to bury the Big XII in past years and their arrogance got in the way.

In all honesty, I want 1 additional pac12 school.

Stay at 14. Rather not deal with Utah drama

Keep the league texas centric

I agree. The PAC has had a year to release details of a media deal, even on July 21st Media Day, but now they magically have a deal just two days after Colorado leaves?

Arizona knows this is highly unlikely and little more than a desperation move by the PAC commish.

Barring tomorrow’s Kliavkoff presentation of that miracle deal, they’ll authorize the moving process at their afternoon Board meeting shortly thereafter.

Be careful with the Texas centric strategy. Many believe that’s what caused the SWC to fall apart

Do these guys know what goes into a change of conference? They act like the prez are just opening the flip phone and saying, “wanna join me?”

The only thing these prez care about is their school.

Rumor Swirling That Big Ten Will Be Adding 4 New Schools This Week (msn.com)

The West Coast schools…possibly…very possible sinc ethe PAC might implode this week.

The ACC schools and especially those ACC schools… 0%

Is Clemson and Florida State even AAU?

If we have an opportunity to get Oregon and Washington, we’re going to get them no matter what…

If the other three corners and OUdub leave, MWC should take the rest and bring in SMU and UTSA.

The Big 12 is not going to take 6 schools right now.

The most we can take is 1 more, and then UO/UW if they decide to join. Should UO/UW not join for whatever reason, then we stop with Arizona. We do this because it forces UO/UW to make a decision.

UO/UW:

  1. Risk taking a crappy PAC deal after Arizona leaves and make waaaay less money than Rutgers and Wake Forest

  2. Risk taking a chance on the Big 12 taking Utah and ASU and then being stranded with nothing

  3. Join the Big 12 for 5-6 years until they get an B1G invite

There’s no way they’re going to get full pro rata shares with Utah and ASU.

No. Neither are AAU.

I believe unlike Arizona, and probably ASU no other PAC school is keen to join B12. I don’t think even B12 is keen to take them too. Culturally and geographically they just don’t make sense. Hence, that one school limit from Yormark.

Nobody was interested in writing articles like this when it was lesser-known schools getting left out.

I want to see 4.

I want to see Utah

I want to see Utah fans vs. Tech fans.

It’s not so much yormark as it is ESPN/FOX

We can’t add too many teams if it reduces revenue shares

We don’t need Utah because we have BYU, and we really aren’t dying to have ASU
