Big 12 / SEC / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 2)

They do. 7M versus 4M. But jumping to 15M jby adding PAC-4 that no other conference want is laughable.

To get to 15M from 7M, that’s 14x8=112M. PAC-4 would be 60M.

Anyone here think ESPN will cough up extra 172M by adding PAC-4 to AAC. HELL NO!!

I agree to an extent, but getting a call up to the Power conferences also takes a lot of luck.

We are in the position we are in right now because the stars aligned perfectly.

  • OU/UT leaving
  • PAC 12 incompetence
  • UH being located in Texas
  • UH Basketball success
  • Rich boosters (Tilman)
  • a great conference commissioner

I could list even more lol

Agreed. It’s a pipe dream from an OSU fan that thinks they would renogiate the contract just because 4 P5 teams joined. They could make a deeper American conference by joining but that’s about it.::

Gen X is into BB, former Exec of ROCNation knows this because he was ground zero working for that company. He’s got his thumb on the pulse. Same reason why he’s pushing BB, BB is probably the 2nd most popular sport in the world right after soccer.

It may be in the world but in the south college baseball in some places is pushing close as basketball isn’t the target demographic of the schools

Stanford just needs to offer Big10 what they can’t refuse. A 25% share of their team revenue for an invite.

Gonzaga still believes their is a strong possibility they get added to the Big 12 according to their Locked on page…

Word has it there was a secret meeting amongst all new Big 12 members and it went something like this…

Whoa! So FSU isn’t getting an invite from the SEC or B1G.

Well FSU is now very angry and sure Clemson while not being vocal is not happy either. Clemson and FSU to the Big12. If the SEC doesnt want them. Take Clemson and FSU and the ACC will start imploding. There exit fee is huge but they are stuck making less then the Big12, SEC, and Big10 for many years. In the long run jumping ship might be the best option for the top ACC teams.

Wow…if that’s true…then the Big 12 might just be able to poach the two biggest brands in the ACC at some point in the future.

Then again…I can’t imagine that in 2036, FSU and Clemson wouldn’t be going to the SEC.

FSU and Clemson are missing out on big revenue by not even going to the Big12. In the long run jumping now and paying to get out is way offset by the TV revenue they be getting if dont wait until 2036.

I record late games and watch them Sunday morning before church

Wow, FOX has money lying around.

I think it may mean that ACC remains and nobody is able to poach…

Possibly!

I think the ACC may stay together too. I think FSU is just barking loud to get a very large unequal share.

I’m good with 4 remaining conferences. I’d actually prefer it to be honest. Realignment is going too far. Now a whole region of the country doesn’t have its own Power conference…that’s just crazy…feel bad for West coast athletes having to travel across the country especially Olympic sports, but definitely happy for the strength of the Big 12 at the same time…

I’m good with four…BUT…

I’d be even happier with three…with the Big 12 getting some current ACC schools in the mix.
