Big 12 / SEC / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 2)

ND wasn’t enough to get them in the ACC.

Given that……ND likewise won’t be enough to get them in the far more selective B1G.

As you say….there’s a PRECEDENT for ND NOT having sufficient influence.

You also argued the was NO WAY they’d add UW & O because they already said NO

Wrong!

ND was never entertaining becoming a full member. If they had…Stanford would be a member of the ACC to get ND as a football member

You keep defending your 100% not going to happen predictions…yet they keep happening!

Yet I successfully argued that they wouldn’t add Stanford and Cal. You said that they would.

And that the Big 12 was stable, you claimed otherwise.

And I successfully argued that the PAC 12 was NOT a better landing spot for UH. Again, you claimed otherwise.

So given that….my track record of being right on these things is better than yours.

No…I said they ONLY add Stanford if it is a ND + Stanford package.

I always said they 100% would add Oregon and Washington to complete their west wing…this was always a leverage play

Go back and read my posts…ive been consistent.

You also claimed they’d add Stanford and Cal and you were wrong.

And that the Big 12 wasn’t stable.

Wrong again.

And that the PAC was a better landing spot for UH than the Big 12.

Wrong.

And that there was a chance UH would join the PAC with other Tx schools.

Wrong.

I was RIGHT on all those things, by contrast.

So as I said, my track record on these things is better than yours.

Stanford ain’t going to the B1G.

How things played out, the Big 12 is better than the PAC but had the PAC killed the B12 and added UH…we’d be in better shape.

That would have demoted Baylor, demoted other B12 schools and never elevated UCF, Cincinnati & BYU to Power status.

Are you paying attention to what UCF is doing with a Power designation???

UCF is becoming that sleeping giant we always thought we’d be

I NEVER said they’d outright add CAL…they suck.

I said Stanford would only be part of a ND + Stanford package and if Notre Dame refuses…they add North Carolina + Virginia

The PAC has already said no to the Big 12, yet you CONTINUED to argue that we should try to go there, that the Big 12 was unstable, and that the PAC was a better landing spot.

Even AFTER all that.

Wrong….wrong….and wrong……FOR THE RECORD.

You even believed that nonsense about UH and TCU going to the PAC.

I rejected that from the beginning, and was RIGHT of course.

By contrast……again….you were wrong.

So given all that, again, your track record on such things is comparatively worse than mine.

Stanford will NOT be in the B1G.

May not even remain P5.

UH1927 did you change your avatar? That’s screwing with my psycho-ocular partitioning.

I just argued it was the BETTER outcome for the University of Houston because it would have reduced the # of Power competition…including posdibly Baylor…AND left UC, BYU & UCF in a G5

Instead, the PAC almost promoted SMU and SDSU.

It worked out but we got dangerously close to ADDING more P5 competion

Yes!

Damn you!!!

I had all your posts archived under “green” in my mind.

The Big 12 formally said No to UH multiple times
1995
2012
2016

No…does not mean No forever

I apologize in advance, but i do not believe degrading other programs so your competition is worse is a good plan. I like the idea of elevating your own program and executing in a highly competitive league. I.e. big 12

There is only infinite amount of resources (TV money, top recruits, exposure, NIL $, etc).

The more Power Programs there are, the bigger the pie, and harder it is to acquire resources

Sure, but college football will be better when those floundering schools and broken leadership find a landing spot that fits them. I prefer that Uh didnt join the Pac 12 that would of most certainty never treated UH as a ranking member and most certainly driven the conference into the ground, like they did

They really showed who they are these last few weeks. A lot of conferences did

Thats not what the trends are showing…they are showing "premiere matchups " is what the overwhelming majority of viewers want to watch.

LSU vs Ohio State will have more national interest than a regional game featuring LSU vs Tulane (both former SEC members)
