UCONN brings the New York media market. (You don’t think the BIG 10 really wanted Maryland, do you?). Spokane has zilch.
Poor Memphis isn’t even being looked at ![]()
Mumphus is the turd in the punch bowl.
Penny is gonna throw the bottle 38 feet this season
Mumphis Mudcats.

Those poor folks. So much shade.
I like it but no AFA & CSU ? Maybe Army for FB.
Wichita gone ?
Once every 4 years coast 2 coast for football.
They bring much on themselves.
Chart boy at it again.

Lots of Altimore bashing in this 1.
lol altimore says that any addition to the pac-4 would be a “call-up”.
Umm…
His charts are full of crap numbers. Made up type stuff.
I can see some schools wanting to align themselves with the PAC-4 instead of AAC or MWC. I just don’t know if they can afford buyout from existing conferences and if the new PAC-4 can cobble together a decent enough media deal. With Stanford, it’s a possibility they have some late-night inventory for potential buyers and can squeeze out a few million dollars more.
But I agree it won’t be P4 money.
I don’t see a p5 conference in that map…I see what should be 3 G6 conferences.
The AAC is 5x stronger than the current iteration of the PaC. What kills me is how people fret about Cal. They deserve nothing and should get nothing.
I dont think anyone thinks its P5 other than possible members.
General thinking is $10 million after production costs.
ESPN does need lots of later linear CFB & ESPN + content.
PAC4 has its NCAA Credits, CF playoff $ for the short term but not enough for immediate buyouts.
Merger seems the only option now then take best of MWC after 25-26.
Someone will get PAC Network for .10 cents on the dollar.
Its just a $$$ drain for PAC 4.
Probably a MWC raid. Maybe a strength in #’ s merger for a huge G5.
PAC has 2 go into business with the AAC (and ESPN) now.
There is no next year.
Current MWC TV Deal close 2 finished. Much more $ to get PAC4 unlikely.
If leftover MWC then CUSA gets better.
So, the AAC would essentially raid the MWC and add all of the PAC 4 to get to 20.
Once the dust settles… we will have
20 school B1G ( currently at 18) (could possibly pull Stanford from the AAC + Notre Dame) or another ACC option (i e North Carolina or Virginia)
20 school SEC (currently at 16) ( adds FSU + Clemson + NC + Virginia) (if the B1G takes 1, or 2, from the ACC…they pick the next best school.
20 school Big 12 (currently at 16). Adds 4 of North Carolina State, Miami, Louisville, Virginia Tech, PITT, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Wake Forest
20 school AAC. IF the B1G adds Stanford, they add one ACC school left OR expands to 24
16 school Big East (currently at 11). Adds 5 - Duke, Syracuse and 3 others not taken by the Big 12 ( possibly Boston College, Wake Forest+ one other)
The remaining 4 schools are G5 level schools. They all have dismal football records. I suppose if 3 more bolted and only 1 remained that team would still believe they are P5. I can claim I am a neurosurgeon but will someone give me money to operate on their brain? Probably not.
FIFY.
B1G already said no to Stanford.
That’s amazing since 75% of the state still has dial up internet service
https://www.google.com/search?q=dial+up+internet+sound&oq=dial+up+&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0i433i512j0i512j0i433i512j0i512l7j46i512j0i512l3.8218j0j4&client=ms-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:65586cda,vid:gsNaR6FRuO0
So people in WV would be able to communicate after an EMP. At least in the state. Not a bad back-up when people in major cities are eating one another and drinking sewer water.
They were waiting for Notre Dame
They also “said No” to Washington and Oregon yet they will join the B1G the same day as UCLA & USC.
A No today…means nothing for tomorrow.
The Big 12 said NO to UH 3 times!
UW and UO were the two largest remaining football brands in the PAC.
Stanford’s is the smallest.
No comparison.
Even the ACC said that they weren’t value additive.
If they weren’t value additive to the ACC, then they certainly won’t be value additive to the B1G, which can afford to be far more selective.
Given that….no.
But you’re missing the most important Fact
Notre Dame WANTS them.
If ND states…we will only join the B1G if Stanford comes with us then your argument doesn’t matter
…and in lawyer’s tems…there is precedent.
USC was only making the move if leech UCLA came with them. The B1G said Sure!
