Big 12 / SEC / B10 Expansion Thread (Part 2)

That’s what you call, “excited Math.”

Smoo adds 1.5 in actual value and their boosters will pay Pac 15, lol

Have you ever heard of an institution of strength considering so many bad options? Streaming, allying, back-loading, SMU’ing.

Face it. There are no chicks left in the bar.

I think it would kill the PAC and other schools in California (except Stanford) and they would no longer be a part of the NCAA. Most schools don’t make a profit as it is, then having to give up half their revenue to the players, esp if it is on top of their other benefits, then the schools will no longer be able to support athletics at a high level. Maybe not even at a low level.

Schools in the rest of the country would ignore California laws.

Probably old news, just thought I’d post it on here for the heck of it.

What $$$ they need from streamers keeping 2 games a week on ESPN for visibility.
ESPN w no interest in PAC Hoop due to layoffs.

Set for $$$ talk / how much $ from streamers/ no staffing to also have PAC hoop.
They love B12 to Rucker for 3d tier content and NIL ops.

So 7.5 Million per school from ESPN if they expand. So someone else has to offer 20-25 Million, with the top games off the table from ESPN, to match Big XII.

It is going to become advantageous for some of the schools to leave before a crappy/marginal TV deal becomes firmly known, so they retain some brand value and save face.

I’ll say it again. 2 or 4 should jump to big12 bc it’s more money even if slim plus exposure is way better and stability. Oregon and wash always wanting out sucks for them to if they stay.

Tradition can be thrown out bc ucla and usc are leaving and wash and Oregon want out. Zona and zona st were later adds to the pac so forget tradition.

What’s interesting is that ESPN would owe the Big 12 $90M if the four corner schools joined.

So if the info above is true, then they’ve essentially budgeted $90M for Pac 12 content no matter which way it turns out.

And Colorado was big 12 before so tradition won’t hold this together but money and stability will be what they view. Once usc and ucla left , the pac isn’t the old glorious pac to hold onto anymore.

Exactly, and there is an outside shot that Oregon/Washington would be in the BIG 12 until the new deal is concluded.

Gonna be funny when WashOre is left holding the Pac bag and the B10 ain’t riding in for the rescue.

Kliavkof is a nice guy. The kind you talk to at a bar for a couple of hours watching baseball. He’d a been fine thirty years ago when formality and courtesy was a bigger thing and money wasn’t the measure of a man’s principles. But he’s been eaten alive by northern sharks. Eaten alive.

I am not counting on anything and who knows what will actually come down. The B12 as it will be when UT and OU leave, is a very good conference without adding the 4 corner schools. If they are added, so much the better. If not, so what? In any event, we will be in an infinitely better place than we have been since the SWC.

Query: does San Diego State get renewed consideration after what they just did to Bama?

I’ve always had them…in the “we take the 4 corner schools but if any of them act like a prima donna, we take 3 + SDSU”.

They have huge potential and are very close to Arizona

Only 350 miles to Phoenix.
