Maybe if Florida and Bama end up in the SEC championship with Bama knocking off Florida and we lose our first match there might be calls for Florida/Bama to get the last 2. I think we are still a 1 there but that could maybe open the door
It was recently when a team lost early in the conference tournament and still kept their #1 seed.
#1 or #2 who cares. Playing 3 games in 3 days to win nothing is a loss. We need to rest. Win the first game and then play everybody.
Did losing to Iowa State last year have any bearing on our outcome?
Only an unfortunate injury did. No one will remember or give a flip about winning a conference tournament. It’s only important to bubble teams and 1-bid leagues.
More crazy talk, just like nasa when uh fell behind in first half, and people on this forum were saying shut it down, let Baylor win, go home… Crazy, Sampson wouldnt allow that nonsense last night against Baylor and won’t allow it in big 12 tournament.
I think big 12 final will be uh vs tech and uh will win.
We’re starting in the quarterfinal against an opponent that will already be having to play us on short rest. Our opponent will be either WVU, TCU or Colorado so not the toughest of matchups on paper. Play as many guys as we want, anyone banged up can be held out as a precaution and worse case scenario is we lose and go home early to get more rest ahead of the NCAA Tournament. If we win then we’re already in the semi finals. I don’t think the tournament needs to be as taxing on us as it will be on other teams seeded higher
I don’t mind the conference tournament because it keeps losing teams invested in the season. Which I think is important for the integrity of the sport at-large. With that said, when you’re operating at the level we’re at, they are largely meaningless.
