Good luck trying to explain that to him pesik.
That’s literally what the entire damn discussion is about. lol Hello?? He doesn’t want to call us kings because he believes his Kansas is still the king despite finishing as 5th runner up 2 years in a row. You’re king of the hill until you’re not and another team(s) pushes you off. Kansas was pre-season no1 but the road to a B12 title was still going to run through Houston and it did.
“His Kansas”?

i get both arguments…
yours: when you knock off the king you become the king… and you remain the king till someone knocks you off
his: you get to be the king from long sustained success, that can even afford you some down years…
in regards to us we havent won enough (years, not games)… then talks about how we might not even be a lock to win it next year …
its a semantic argument that doesn’t need to get that deep
You don’t like the Coogs being called B12 top dogs by fans or national commentators and think Kansas still is. If it looks like a Jayhawk and talks like a Jayhawk then it’s probably a Jayhawk.
Kansas obviously. I mean back to back champs is impressive but Kansas has a chance to go back to back 5th place. Thats next level.
How about this, let’s prove who went to UH and is an alum. Each of us send our diploma to Ryan in a private message (as well as a drivers license to match the diploma) and if you (or I) can’t do this to prove we’re a UH alum we have to give Coogfans a $10,000 donation.
I’m more then happy to do this. How about you?
It’s not that deep. I’d rather celebrate our current success and have optimism for the future and have basketball talking heads pumping us up than talking down our achievements because of what some other program has accomplished before we even got in the conference.
Just because you went to UH doesn’t disprove you’re a Jayhawk fan as evidenced of how fervently you believe Kansas is still the top dog this year while sitting in 6th place.
Who’s “talking down” our success??
What Sampson has/is doing is incredible!!!
I have not ONCE belittled our success. What I’m not going to do is pop off and start beating my chest comparing what we’re doing (and have done in the past) to a program like KU who not only have an incredible Big12 record but they also have National Championship(S) something we do not have. Nothing to be ashamed of because very few schools have such a resume but you keep on popping off.
I mean for all the UConn hype, they’ve only won the BE once under the Hurley. So I don’t think its crazy to say that the BE runs through SJ next year.
And there you have it. I knew you didn’t go to UH.
You’re what’s called a T-shirt fan!!
lmao… My Coog bonafides are as solid as they come. As a legacy, an alum, a STH in both football and basketball and a donor to the past COT, I have nothing to prove to a Jayhawk fan.
Even without all that, I’d rather be a t-shirt fan than a Coog that loves another team more than UH. Sorry if the Coogs being the new sheriff in town ruffles your Jayhawk feather so much. You’ll cope… eventually.
I don’t know if that proves anything. Lots of people who went to UH are bigger fans of other schools, unfortunately. If you like the Jayhawks more, that’s kinda sad, but prob not unheard of. I get it tho… we can’t tell you who to root for.

So you’re smoking the same whacky tobacky as olu. Pointing out another schools resume makes me a fan of theirs? Gotcha.
olu, trust me I’m not a KU fan.
Seems pretty ridiculous to be arguing with a fellow Coog about all of this. So I come with an olive branch as all this bickering back and forth is just messing up this thread. We don’t have to agree on everything. What we do agree on is our Coogs and hopefully this is the yr we win a National Championship and cut down the nets on Apr 7th.
Go Coogs!!

Everyone will play tonight for the first time in a while.
Curtis Jones is still being treated for walking pneumonia, so he’s on somewhat of a pitch count. Safe to assume they will be a bit careful with Gilbert, too.
But it’s a good thing from a morale standpoint if nothing else.
They are a women’s softball school.
Idk much about softball, but they’re good at wrestling!
