Big12 Basketball 2025-26

Sure, if your opinions are based off of these manufactured stats.
Stats I look at that they’ve beaten a number of solid teams, have improved quite a bit from last season and replaced a couple headaches with some Ballers. Their #5 is a heck of a player, and I’ve seen him a number of times against other teams, but as expected, our defense and specifically Eman shut him down.

ASU is third worst in the conference, but still top 100 in the NCAA. They aren’t a bad team.
But in BIG 12 play they just played Arizona and UH. So their stats aren’t going to look great when 40% of their games are top 5 teams and another 20% of their game was against a top 15 team in BYU. Context matters.

sorry @RezClone

and yes i didnt use head to head as sole deciding factors… we are 17 games in, you beating a team 1 time doesnt mean you get to rank above them and we ignore the rest of the resume

So you just out here eyeballing it, when we have hard data compiled by team of scientists?!?!?

I trust the science!

You realize a lot of this has to do with the fact that they just got beat by 30 to UH lol. They lost at Arizona by 7. They’re not a bad team at all. I’ve watched them play a few times and I’d consider them to be a decent team that will win some games. They are not “bad.” They’re right there with middle of the pack teams

A quick Google about if Self has an heir apparent turns this article up - no need to read the actual article. It says the same thing as the headline with more words lol.

Bill Self endorses Jacque Vaughn, Jeremy Case as potential successors to him at Kansas

With his history I’m sure he’s been told to get an ambulance if in doubt. I hope it’s minor and he feels better soon.

Bill Self is 63 yrs old. A legend. Has had some health scares lately

He missed the tournament in 2022-23 season.

Hope he’s alright.

@MountainCoug I heard the same. Jacque Vaughn sounds like the successor

It’s tough to find stuff to do when you retire but this guy won’t have an issue. He could be around the game and step back without issue since he’s such a people person.

Maybe I’m imagining it, but it seems like we are giving up a lot of kill shots this year. We’ve had several games where we go on enormous scoring droughts, but maybe we are dropping in a FT every now and then to prevent the kill shot.

its not much for a normal good team but for our standards thats pretty bad lol

ISU seems to be doing what it does every year,- starting hot and then cooling considerably.

Well Otzelberger has been to the Sweet 16 two out his four years at Iowa State, as well as beating an admittedly banged up UH squad in KC in 2024, along with everyone else of course.

So while NOT completely baseless by any means for you to say that, I’d push back on that a little bit.
