Big12 Basketball 2025-26

3v3 is great. My daughter been playing in a 3v3 league during the off season. You can’t hide from the play, you have to defend your butt off because it’s unlikely someone is there to rotate and help and you have to be agggressive.

I think it teaches the game better then 5v5 and prepares you for 5v5

Comments are decent.

Pretty sure none of the state specific challenges have had a ruling. Ohio’s expected ruling tomorrow is the first wave of them.

This is from Google AI:

The Expected Outcome

Most sports law experts expect state judges to grant temporary relief to the players. This would allow them to take the floor for the 2026–27 season while the broader lawsuit plays out over the next year. A critical benchmark is expected very soon, as Ohio Judge Christopher Wagner is scheduled to issue a pivotal written order regarding the preliminary injunction.

But we get an Ohio ruling tomorrow. I don’t blame them for trying

So does this mean that Cumberland may have one more year?

Coach P… UC just added MJ Collins added to the roster.

It’s a preliminary decision.

If I’m honest, I would put this at a 0% chance of passing if it was a regular year when this goes Federal, but the fact that 5 for 5 has passed, the argument of Big punished for your graduating year is a strong one

50/50 at this point… hard to argue against something that you are making legal in a few months

I think with MJ Collins UC now has a very competent roster for a great offensive mind like Calhoun to work with.

They could add Kolby king too but there are some doubts about if he actually joins the team
But Collins made it official this morning.

Normally I’m just messing around but if we get to keep MJ Collins I really like our chances against anyone UC plays at home, Houston Included.

Hes a killer and the talent around him is pretty good too. It’s a roster built with a system & cohesion in mind whereas Wes Miller was just stacking the best player he could land with no direction.

On another note… I don’t love UC’s noncon schedule but it’s nearing completion. We lost our Louisville game due to venue renovations. So we won’t get that game until next year. So far it’s:

Minnesota
@dayton
Xavier
Clemson (neutral)
Boston College (neutral)
Georgia (neutral)

Not exactly a murderers row.

That said UC will travel to the Bahamas in August for a few games and then play an outdoor game in a tennis venue against Ohio state in October as an exhibition.

Good to see Utah is running the conference

If those ranking were to hold in place, Houston would need to get to the 8th place team (WVU) before they have a road only opponent and only one above them is a home & home (Arizona).

Tre Singleton: THE next Jefferson-like classic Otz project that will pop.

We just talked about Tre, and he stands out at the top.” - TJ Otzelberger

I don’t have a problem with this ranking. In fact, I fully endorse it.

Spicy, indeed. Talked to two different Jayhawk fans on our vacation in the Black Hills LW.

Fwiw, there was some nice Big 12 comradarie because they approached me solely because of my family’s ISU gear.

But make no mistake, suffice it to say the Beakers are definitely back to their chest-thumping ways with the offseason they believe they had. @RobDob @Kyle_Be_Coogin
