The WSU game was a season ticket game for UH originally scheduled for TDECU.

Supposedly, UH got about a Million for moving to NRG. I understand, but we lost home field advantage.

The OK game a few years back was a 7th game and there were 6 other home games.

Did we just build TDECU for conference games ?

$2 Million is the going price moving forward !!!

Please no. That would be a terrible idea. But even though the schedule is full, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t revisable, right? If a big enough name comes along, isn’t it possible to buy out a game or something of that nature?

2.7 M if they’re going to deduct our season tickets from the total.

Actually SDSU had a deal in place with Boise State to come over. The BIG East fiasco (who nixed that deal by the way???) was next and it was all she wrote.
Boise is making at least twice the money we are making. SDSU is trying to find a “way out” They are like UCF and us. They are in a huge recruiting area.
SDSU is a threat to USC, UCLA and others. That is why the PAC will never take them.
Competition is supposedly based on sports alone. The ncaa made sure that was not the case.

I see that Boise St makes $2.9 million a year off tv. We are getting right around $7 million now. Our conference makes more off other sources as well.

I wonder what that $7M could have been if BSU and SDSU had joined and the AAC had not added Tulsa and ECU? Water under the bridge but the P6 idea would have been an easier idea to sell.

I think CDH also mentioned that potential recruits like the idea of having an opportunity to play in a NFL stadium. An additional “carrot” doesn’t hurt.

Boise State nixed it. SDSU contemplated staying after Boise went back, but couldn’t convince anyone else to come with.

Our game in 2021 has been moved back to 2025. I’ve heard rumors we have something lined up with a P5 to play here in Houston (although
it may be at NRG)

By the way, this sets up 2025 for us nicely
we have 3 OOC home games (UTSA, Colorado, Boise State).

Great another P5 waiting to feel like home. The school I dreamed about that can come and help sell it out. Rutgers

A P5 added on the 2021 schedule is great even if at NRG, otherwise that would probably be filled with a bottom G5 willing to play a one off or another dreaded FCS. Then our schedule will be good until 2024 where we have an issue of 2 road games and no home games. Possible to get GA Southern to switch the 2027 game in Houston to 2024, then only 1 spot to fill.

The NRG front sign should read the following:
“Anyone associated with uta is strictly prohibited from entering this building”
“In case you attempt to do so you will be immediately escorted out of town with tar and feathers”
