Iâve always wondered what the current players think when they read posts about a âstarâ possibly coming into the program. Maybe they had intended to stay here for the term, but now the future is real cloudy. Is it time to do the âportalâ dance? Other options might be better than he thought, and we are now without experience.
You donât have to wonder. Several players over the years have spoken on this.
On one hand, they understand that college athletics is not a guaranteed business, but on the other hand they also mentioned how the portal does make some things more difficult. That said, many players have acknowledged that the portal also has made it drastically easier to transfer and find the right fit.
Itâs like that scene from The Program when Omar Epps introduces himself as a tailback. Other guy introduces himself as the starting tailbackâŠâyeah I knowâŠthatâs why they recruited meâ. Griffen couldnât just jump in the portal back then though.

I could be wrong, but I have to believe Chriss would understand if Fritz took Wiegman. Iâm not saying Zeon wouldnât have options in the portal, but he seems to be secure in his own skin and wants the team to be more competitive. Itâs not like he wouldnât be challenged even if Conner wasnât coming.

Oh yeah and they fought over Halle Berry throughout the movie and eventually became a backfield duo.
That block he threw on the last game was the only uplifting point of the movie.

Our quarterbacks and Barbay sure as hell wouldnât have put Golden in a position for that in one game.

Chriss is focused on Chriss right now. We have no idea if Weigman is coming or not. This is pure speculation.

If they are good players they want more good players to come.
If they are average players and afraid of competition they donât like it.
Iâve dealt with this for years and yearsâŠ.you want your team to get better everydayâŠâŠpart of that is a talent infusion.
If they are against better talent coming in then you donât want them on your team.
