That’s definitely NOT “big time” competition.
He may have “bit time” talent…but playing P4 ball will likely be a bigger step up in competition for him that it will be for most I-FBS signees, the overwhelming majority of which will have played 5A and 6A ball in TX.
Looks like an SEC OOC schedule.

Considering we are talking about a private school, playing 5A Port Arthur Memorial, and 3A Hitchcock and Franklin is a tall order. They are also playing some well known out of state schools like Massillon and St Charles Catholic in Louisiana, as well as other private and church schools. Seems like a good schedule to me. Of course, we have a high level of play in 5A and 6A, but there are always terrific players in the private and catholic schools who have great college careers. He’ll have time to grow and learn at Houston.
