BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

Exactly!

And the NIL does not create more talented players…it just moves them and pays them but does NOT guaranteed they are good.

Look at Donovan Smith…he was our huge NIL addition.

You can use the NIL to plug holes and build depth if you have a quality GM type talent evaluator on staff

Yikes with insults! Be a nice human… people will feel so much better

@kfd91 i agree. But theres many times, i flipped from a Big12 game to an SEC game.

And its a noticeable difference. The hits are harder, the speed at all positions is different

Big10 and their playcalling stinks at times. But SEC is still elite in my opinion

In terms of NFL talent on the field, how many draft picks are coming from the SEC this yr & the Big12?

Arkansas losing to a terrible OK State team convinced me otherwise. Vandy losing to Georgia State too.

@kfd91 true. Middle of the pack SEC can be beaten by anybody.

The typical SEC elite vs the Big12 elite how would they matchup?

Unfortunately, the Georgia vs TCU national championship did the Big 12 a huge disservice

Blowout game, nobody watched after halftime. ESPN who pays for it, were pissed. And will use their platform to downplay the Big12 going forward

Except for big TV ratings Colorado

Excellent. An accurate passer could have gotten us 3 more wins easily possibly more, and no it was not the play calling.

Yes, middle of the pack SEC can be beaten by anyone. Right there. That kills the myth of the SEC juggernaut

This thread is really gotten off the rails, regardless of what any of yall say or have seen in game film, quarterback is a position where it is proven that you can be benched, transfer and win a Heisman. Sometimes a change of scenery, scheme change, or maturity is all that is need, and at the end of the day Conner Weigman is our quarterback, he is not our only quarterback. Yall act like the transfer portal is a menu and you can just pick and choose who comes to Houston.

Every time I go to PM to fight it blocks me from using “mo#%%#er.” You can’t fight like that.

Jo, I’m having a hard time keeping up on the guys we are looking really good on, the guys that may or may not have committed, and the guys just offered but don’t know what their intentions are. Could you please give us a list of who you think we have a very good chance of landing and some you are suspecting we may land?

All of these guys wearing our uniform but giving vague posts are adding to my confusion.

I’d consider my self pessimistic overall, but man, you are taking it to another level. I have a great level of optimism going into next season. New OC, great talent in the portal, etc

As @Joprior23 said, it’s getting old. Every thread, man. You’re constantly weigh in with negative posts. Just sit back and watch the magic happen.

Dude aggy hasn’t even played for a conference football title since 1998. No one does less with more than aggy.

+1 for historical badgering

And they won that conference game against KSU. Michael Bishop had the game won if he would have just fallen down but instead he tried to get extra yards and fumbled away the ball to the Aggies giving them a chance to win the game.

However, the Aggies were co-champions in 2010 but lost the tie breaker to OU.

I had us winning 6 games this year and i see no reason why we can’t compete for the Big 12 championship next season.

If Prime is gone we have a very favorable schedule.

As far as those items, those are legitimate items the coaching staff is going to have to coach around…and FAST.

My Aggie friend said our new QB has tons of talent but must learn to stay poised when things get chaotic.

UH1927, i cant understand the constant negative posts and this obsession with us moving to the BIG. All our rivals are here, right where we are. And we have the right coach for us to finally make a move in FB and put some real good teams on the field. Next year, i expect us to win 7 or 8 games and go to a bowl, which is a big improvement over last year. We’re getting real good players to commit to us and to come here via the portal. I think its because kids like CWF and his staff and want to play for them. How about being reasonable and giving it a chance instead of acting like there’s something wrong if we arent 12-0…You should enjoy a 7 or 8 win season next year, not be unhappy. JMO

Great post Blue !

negativity?!??

I’ve said multiple times:

We WILL be the NIL darlings of the Big 12 if not top 10 in the United States (i’ve laid out Why many times)

I had us winning 6 games this season and bowling and predicted the Oklahoma game would be A LOT closer than people think (and it was)

I see no reason why we can’t be in contention for the Big 12 Championship, and a playoff spot spot, next season. Remember, Arizona State was picked dead last and they are a playoff team

I ultimately have us in the B1G because we are the best Texas brand left on the board and if they want a presence in our State we ARE the obvious choice. So YES…I have us moving up to the P2 eventually

Academically, I’ve said repeatedly we are building a monster and will be a UT version 2.0 and after a generation, or two, of attracting MAJORITY Traditional students we will be a destination school all over the nation.

Do you guys gloss over my ridiculously optimistic posts?

Edit:

@UH1927 in terms of “brand”

Texas Tech - air raid, Mike Leach, Patrick Mahomes

Baylor - RGIII Heisman, had recent success with other coaches, but scandal with Art Briles

TCU- Andy Dalton, Gary Patterson, National Championship game

Houston- national success under Herman. But dormant for a decade after he left. Case Keenum passing accolades

Because of location, Fort Worth, TCU, would probably be first choice if any school was plucking a team

I like our potential alot. Cause its a fertile recruiting location for Football & Basketball.
