BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

QB2 is where the real battle will be.

It could Chriss, it could be Carlisle though Im pretty sure he’s going to redshirt, it could be why Ale is still sticking around for now, it could be McMickle who presumably would have started this year had he not gotten hurt or it may even be Wijay who was the Scout Team qb and supposedly better than some teams’ starters.

Having QB2 is crucial because we need to not miss a beat behind Weigman.

From what I’ve seen, I think McMickle, Carlisle and Wijay are the best fits for what Nagle ran at Tulane.

I think the best scenario is Weigman playing QB and Chriss playing HB or slot WR, with his athleticism. Dude is too twitchy to not see the field. Hes just not QB1

Ok. AAU doesn’t matter. UH needs to grow BRAND to get into the big10.

Got it.

So, who is this Weigman character?

I read the other day that Weigman doesn’t think Stanford will get a BIG invite. Said he feels like BRAND is driving the bus now and Stanford doesn’t make the cut.

Absolutely. If Chriss is willing to make the switch, by all means lets go for it.

Ward, King and Postma all made the switch to wide receiver at one point or another since they were too athletic to be on the bench.

Could care less about joining the Big 10 and playing those dam yankee schools, we have no rivalry or connection with them. Plus it’s cold up there in winter we would not do well up there in winter ala SMU vs Penn State

How much less could you care?

Meanwhile Chriss says Stanford deserves a BIG invite because it solidifies B1G as far and above the best academic conference. Better than ACC and Louisiana Lafayette.

Explain this, we have a QB who has never played a down for us , new HC, new OC, new OL new WR’s and he is on the Heisman watch list? Either they are crazy or going off of pure talent alone. Either way, I see a drastic improvement for the Coogs.

It’s a little of everything John.
First and foremost is the talent that CW has….at the beginning of the season he was listed as a 1st rounder on some NFL mock drafts.
They know he is going to be highly motivated….im sure they also consider the talent Houston has added and the fact that a better OC with better game plans are going to put him in a place to succeed.
And being in the BIG 12 he should be able to put up numbers worthy of being a Heisman contender.
It’s like betting on the perfect storm to happen….and if it does look out.

And don’t forget, it also means they thing UH is going to be much better next season….because nobody is even on the Heisman watch list if they think they are on a 6-6 team.

That is all true, but usually a Heisman candidate is not a portal guy transferring because he lost his starting role, especially to a team as poor on offense as Houston. Seems a stretch to put him on the Heisman watch but I like the exposure for UH.

There is a difference between losing a starting job due to an injury and being benched.

Next year’s Heisman trophy winner is more likely to be a transfer quarterback then not.

Once they benched him, they started losing

The thing about Weigman that i love is he wants to prove all the people wrong who doubt his abilities and he is coming to Houston with fire in his eyes. And i think he’s a leader…Thats what we need! I think he’ll do well for us.

Then there’s Joe Burrow who was not even 2nd string at Ohio State but won the Heisman while leading LSU to the CFP Championship. Nothing is etched in stone.

Ward Jr. moved to WR and he had his time in the NFL.
