BOOM! Conner Weigman commits to Houston!

The talent at QB in the playoffs is glaring. Seeing how they thread tight passes is amazing we never had that.

I am going to throw out a couple of names from the mid-1990s that were productive and under-appreciated QBs: Jason McKinley and Chuck Clements. Both played under Head Coach Kim Helton.

I think @CougariDOC is speaking of this past season in particular.

Chuck Clements especially. He committed under Jenkins, to be a run and shoot QB. Helton came in and did the literal opposite. Yet he honored his commitment and gave his best to the program - key piece of the 96 Liberty Bowl team. A man of character.

Most under appreciated QB last 30 years is Greg Ward Jnr. Heart of a champion.

Kid won us our only conference championship in the last 28 years.

There are folks on this board that weren’t sperm last time we won a conference championship.

Uhhhhhh 2006?

I stand corrected, 18 years, but the gist remains. Greg Ward is under appreciated.

Hard for me to imagine Greg Ward Jr as being underappreciated.

That’s like saying Jamal Shead was underappreciated.

Greg Ward was the Jamal Shead of football, very similar leaders, character, heart and WINNERS.

Yes, trying to figure out who’s out here under appreciating GW. He won us a freaking ny6 bowl.

I mean I call him Gary every once in a while, but other than that

My post above may be the first time I’ve actually called him Greg. :joy:

and Mr. Ward played injured costing him $M’s.

Lol I remember when you geniuses were saying that Weigman couldn’t run.

A lot of the takes did not age well.

This held up, however, Mendoza did not lose his starting job at Cal before he transfered.

I agreed when I “found” your old post. Good call

Coming back from this old post. This is funny. I guess Weigman can run now? So glad we have Fritz and his staff that can evaluate, lol. Here’s some crow soup.

Aldine has been a great poster for years. So he made a mistake?

Really dislike the “gotcha” culture.

I’m so glad you’re not the one deciding where the NIL money should go. Maybe Weigman is actually good and can get us to 10-3 with a bowl game beating an SEC team? lol
