Welcome to the Coog family Isiah! We look forward to seeing you excel for our basketball team. The sky is the limit.

Walker was also ranked 12th overall although 247 has Harwell with a higher rating overall. There’s not a ton to separate them though

Number 1 at his position. Definitely an offensive talent like we’ve never had

Note Harwell is dealing with an injury that made him miss all of AAU
and is starting to feel the impact on his rating
but he was top 7 prior to his injury

He is actually very similar to grimes
his game will actually feel very familiar to us

Can he take over games immediately?

He hasn’t shown that yet, but that is where people were expecting him to develop if he wasn’t injured

He is a quite 15-20pt kinda guy right now (in the elite hs circuit)
he isn’t breaking anyone down off the dribble on a regular basis but a couple catch and shoot 3s , a couple out back points, a couple transition steal layups
he is the type where you don’t feel his presence and you look up and he has 20
think of grimes last year here but less aggressive

His teammates who is going to Ohio state this year was the ball dominant player
but he should be the ball dominant guy this coming year

We are in on a lot of elite recruit but berries is the only high volume scorer types off the dribble
peat can take over games if he can get post isos

This guy mentioned Harwell as a Grimes comp.

Yeah, but Tipton must not be from Houston.

That car looks like it belongs at Ole Miss or something. It’s naked

Should be a Candy Apple Red Cadillac with elbows. And it should be parked in front of Frenchy’s.

On paper, we’re getting closer to a Natty.

Before Sampson retires he will win a Natty. Maybe two.

It will be tough to beat the Elvin Hayes-Don Chaney class or Clyde Drexler-Michael Young class.
But if they get 3 or 4 more elite players they are in the mix for, they could pull off the school’s top recruiting class.

Was more talking in the context of how touted they were when they came in, not how special they were when they left

Elvin wasn’t a touted recruit on the national level, neither was young

If we are using parade all-Americans (for all the teams) as a guage for 5star pre-recruit rankings
we’ve never had more than 1 5star in a class

There is likely a debate with just Harwell and Flemings alone (especially if Harwell can regain his original ranking when he is back healthy)
but it would be a debate
with 3 it’s not even close
this will be our best class
with 4 there will be huge gap from 2nd place

Young was the best player in Texas and definitely touted. Drexler only has an offer from Texas Tech and was not touted.

thats why i noted “on a national level”
Michael was not one of the 30 players that was listed as a parade all-american
techiancally only rob williams from that era came in as an all-american (and rickie winslow right after )
