We NEVER get players from Westlake.

It’s a start, but not a staunch list of P5 schools on his list.

He runs a 10.33 100 in track and he’s 6’ 170. I could see him being a late riser with a good senior year

Austin Westlake is a premier 6A Division 1 football program in Texas. I am happy that Mr. McRee committed to UH. He has high school experience at the highest level in Texas. Hopefully, he can start a pipeline between Westlake and UH.

Good luck Mr. McRee!

He must have really impressed at camp this summer. His first year on varsity and only played in a couple games as a junior. Really good measurables, and his rating is really high. I am shocked that a top 150 recruit in the state of texas only has 2 P5 offers. List is littered with guys committed to P5s below him. Excited to see him next year hopefully get a chance to shine

Yeah, offers matter but camp performance, which the casual fan won’t know about, probably is more important.

Is he a big12 level talent?

That’s a wind aided time but he still is pretty fast

There isnt much for us to evaluate, again he has 8 total catches at the varsity level. Right now you trust the staff’s evaluation and see what he does next year. WR is a position we can afford to take some chances on developmental guys, because the room is so crowded already. I like the offer and I hope he has a huge year for Westlake

He could eventually turn into a Cooper Kupp or Wes Welker type inside receiver for us …

Where’s the o-lineman?

I dont know about his receiving skills, but his return skills seem strictly top level…would be great to have a Tyron Carrier or Patrick Edwards type talent back there returning kicks for us in Big 12.

This is what McRee said about Holgy, Shorts, and Scott:

McRee said. When I took my official I got to sit down with Coach Holgorsen at dinner and talk to him for a while and see how genuine he is really. Being around Coach Shorts was great as well, I got to go eat with some of the receivers that he coaches and just seeing how they interact with him let me know how genuine of a guy he is too. I got to sit down with Coach Scott and go over some film with him, which was very exciting. Getting to see a little bit of what they wanted to do with me. It wasn’t just offense, there were special teams as well. I’m gonna be a big part of the return game for my team this year and want to keep doing that at the next level too.

It seems that the players really like CDH which is in line with what others have said about their relationships.
