Bobby Joe Banes Jr. (born April 7, 1967) is a former offensive tackle who played one season with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the eleventh round of the 1990 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Houston and attended Klein High School in Klein, Texas.[1]Banes was also a member of the New York/New Jersey Knights of the World League of American Football.

Akron site shows only 2 games in 22.
Akron was awful. Banes was 2nd team All AAC before he left.
I knew he must have played as much as possible

Not quite.

He may have been a PRE-SEASON all-conf player, but he ended up not getting a heck of a lot of playing time.

He never made an actual all-conference team here.

That said, it’s great to have him back.

He’ll give us some experience and depth, and hopefully pick up a Master’s degree along the way.
