I am ready for 2024 Houston Football. Any fellow proof heads here?

zoom in on the tie fighter lol

Hopefully the reason I’m drinking next season is different than the reason I drank this past season.

Two subjects that I have strong feelings and opinions about.
Looks like you have the one you can control under control.

Some Maker’s Mark on game day is first rate!

Eagle rare
Jameson Irish whisky

Now I know where the EH Taylor and Weller went after I waited in line at Specs only for them to be out by time I got to them.

Yellow Spot ruined me for Jameson.

That’s an impressive collection.

My wife gifted me a John J. Bowman that I’ve been looking for over a year but never did find one. She seems to find a lot of allocated bottles.

Man after my own heart.

Looks like you got some Overholt on the shelf, and I think I spotted some Papi Van Winkle! You need to add some Old Grand Dad and Some Basil Hayden’s my friend!

Also, Woodford Reserve and Maker’s Mark are solid and underrated, mass produced bourbon’s. Great for cocktails.

How’d you get the pappy? Any collection is impressive honestly. Happy new year.

The Eagle Rare (also Buffalo Trace) are the best for the money if you can get on the allocation list.

Always heard mixed reviews on the Eagle Rare.

Not sure the bottle I have at home is one that would taste anything like it is supposed to. (about a 40 year old bottle of the stuff)

Sometimes you just luck out. Walked into the Costco liquor store (Bunker Hill) during football season and found this. I picked up a few bottles.

I had old grand dad one night, like a lot of it and was hungover for what seemed like two days.

I do consider myself a barrel proof head, but something about that OGD experience….ooof

Don’t worry, I was at the Austin Drop!

If Dana was still the coach I would tell you that you would need more Bourbon.

Got a store owner who pulls a bottle of eagle rare for me when he gets it. My bourbon for years!

This is a borderline whiskey museum. Open more of them!

It’s not a problem for me — between the wife and Cougar football, all of my bottles are open.

Agree on both.

I’ve found that New Riff Single Barrel and Still Austin are really good, non-allocated, easy to find bourbons.

I’m not a high-proof guy. Mid 90s seem to be my sweet spot.
