That could be part of it. In general my feeling is Q3/4 games this year, our margin of victory and efficiency were down compared to previous years.

I miss when SEC basketball sucked for the most part and at least that was mostly acknowledged on the national stage. Now it’s SEC all the time…sigh
…and the latest ranking reflects that espn bias. Even with the most tilted math there is absolutely no chance that the sec should get 10 teams in…but espn is pushing hard for it.

the espn conferences don’t many A-S tier teams which is gonna hurt them come actual tournament time but that also means all the mediocre sec and acc teams will probably backdoor their way in while the middling big 10 and big 12 teams will be out 
The rankings show where sec basketball is at. There is no way the sec should get more teams than the BIG12.

It’s funny - BYU has been dropping like a rock in the metrics but I feel like they are getting better. When they get exposed they learn. I’m excited for the tough games and I don’t mind if they keep “falling” lol.
All the top Big XII teams seem to be getting better and stronger when I see them.
I’m hoping SO much for an even more dominant March for the conference this season lol.
