it wouldn’t be too bad if most of our middle of the pack teams played with their food in buy games and it really hurts that we’re in february and i can still count the number of times someone in our “top 6” lost to someone outside the top 6 with one hand lol
guess we’ll have to see how other brackets look midweek but idk how we’d be in the south as a 2 unless duke or uconn gets jumped
as a 1 or a 3 we’d be near locks to go south tho
how did Purdue jump us in the net rankings?!?
I legit thought you were joking… then went to check the new NET rankings and yep, we stayed 9 and PURDUE is now 8th, up from 10th. WE beat #70 Cincy by 22 and they beat #170 Maryland by 30. NET formula apparently doesn’t like us this year and absolutely adores Purdue, who should be in the teens at best.
Purdue was 11th in the NET after losing to IU (their 3rd loss in a row). Since that time, they have beaten #170, and moved up 3 spots.
We dropped in coaches poll.
I wanted to fight for TCU, but getting blown out by 26 at Colorado makes it kind of tough (right now). You have a crazy top 6 and a good team in UCF thats strung together some quality ball.
But yikes…the bottom half of the conference is terrible. Cinci, WVU, Baylor, Utah, ASU, OSU. Colorado and KSU? Woof. So really, its not “bubble teams” but bubble TEAM, as in TCU. Barring a miracle, nobody outside the top 8 is sniffing the tourney, and the top 7 are near locks at this point.
If TCU picks up one really good road win, some good wins at home, and beats the teams they should (and dont get blown out by a mediocre team like Colorado) I think they will get in. They just need some good victories to completment the wins over the patsies.
Big 12 Bubble teams are getting no loves cause they aren’t worthy. Big 12 is a 7 bid conference. and 6 will be high seeds.
It’s that great win on the road against Maryland lol
USC and Washington are 48, 47 in the NET respectively and TCU/Baylor are 54, 56…
Seems like either 4 of those teams could grab a bubble spot from one of the others…
Why are these B1G teams considered so much more worthy…?
baylor keeps getting B2A’d in their own gym and usc seems about right
tcu and washington are just fodder for the top teams to pick up free q1 wins im afraid
Yeah, I’ve been pretty hard on our middle teams, but I know all four of these teams pretty well at this point…
and I’d take TCU and Baylor straight up every time against both USC and Wash.
iowa has to play in Seattle next. 10:00 tip time
Huge game for the middling but metric-darling hoks. That is a brutal road spot. I hope the Huskies have at least one good one in em here.
metrics overrate both but iowa has a better “best win” and didn’t lose to a bottom tier wcc school and needed ref help + overtime to beat a swac school ![]()
Not sure why so called experts keep putting UH in the south region. They try to protect the first seed and potentially playing in Houston vs Houston runs counter to what the selection committee has done in the past.
Washington lost to Baylor by 9. And Colorado by 13.
we probably have a better shot at being in the south as a 3 than as a 2 but as long as arizona is in the west there’s always a chance we get the south even if we don’t get a 1 seed
Good info. That means im screwed then tho lol. Go Huskies!
