Michigan is a problem. TCU played them tough though. Tech beat Duke.

I think the Big 12 is the best conference and it will show when there are lots of deep runs. If they underseed the Big 12 they will look foolish and they will not want that.

They’re higher than UH in KenPom, NET and Bart Torvik right now. Their resume is currently better than ours. Vandy is 4-0 in Q1 with 2 of those being Q1A wins. We are 2-1 in Q1. Haven’t played a Q1A yet. Not rubbish at all.

As of latest AP rankings, we have 7 in top 25. If they stayed the same at the end of year (which they wont because we’ll cannibalize), we’d have the following seeds;

#1 ZONA
#1 ISU
#2 COOGS
#3 BYU
#4 TTU
#6 KU
#7 UCF

You rational was very sound… until you actually look at the list of teams they beat…

I am not buying UCF, SMU, Wake Forest… maybe Saint Mary’s as they are usually solid.
Meanwhile, we 1A wins over Arky and Auburn.

Auburn and Arkansas are not Q1A wins as of right now.

And by your own screenshots, our best win is #28 and #35 while Vandy have beaten #23, #24 and #32. The math is the math. We can’t pump ourselves up when the metrics love us and say they’re sus when they don’t. We have plenty of games ahead to prove ourselves and move up.

Right or wrong, I THINK not beating Syracuse by margin on a neutral was always what has been serving as somewhat of a drag on your NET, way more than the Tennessee loss.

Margin is capped at 12, and going to OT with them hurt your efficiency metrics in that context.

And it only shows up in trying to get that NET into the elite of the elite. Most teams would be thrilled to be where UH’s NET is right now, but I also understand why the standard is higher for you guys. I don’t blame ya’ll for that, just saying.

If it was at Syracuse, it’s a wash. Like the Cincy game. Instead, it was a “NET loss”.

Just a theory, I don’t actually know. I’ve just always had that thought since it happened.

it’s more of we haven’t really been running up the score in buy games since this time last year we only just started to wake up and yet we were still around 7th in net despite already having 3 losses

You are correct, I was accidently looking at AP rank instead of net rank on our list. I still think that Vandy is a paper tiger… I am not sold anyone banking their resume on a UCF win… they have not sniffed the tourney since 2019 and always underacheive.

We’ll find out more about Vandy on Wednesday when they host Alabama at home. Plenty of season for things to shake out.

Agree that is a big test for them!

That UCF win looked much better after UCF beat Kansas this weekend.

Agree and they are now actually ranked in the AP poll. But we have seen this story before… 2 years ago they beat Kansas at home. They always seem to flop in the end just like Cincy.

Like it or not, there is nothing based on performance that suggests Houston is elite (right now).

Typically metrics and pollsters like marquis wins or blowing the doors off quality competition. To date, Houston’s best win is beating Arkansas (a good win). They also have yet to have a (or multiple) showcase wins where they’ve imposed their will. The Coogs SHOULD be better than they are yet they haven’t been. I think once Houston puts it together and shows what it can do they will get rewarded.

Vandy beat a pretty solid Wake team by 30+ points. That’s what people want from Houston.

Pretty wild that byu is 9th in the AP, but 4th in the big 12.

We aren’t in the WCC/aac anymore

The rodent pro sec is full on.
If I am counting correctly the sec has more teams than the BIG12.

So predictable. The bias is too obvious at this point.
