You can’t compare Zeon to Wiggy…
I don’t disagree with you.
My point isn’t that Keisean is better that Weigman as we speak (though it’s possible and perhaps likely).
My point is that Weigman isn’t good enough to justify a recruit like Keisean to redshirt here at UH.
Keisean could be the key to a 10-win season as a true freshman. Keisean will compete with Weigman because Weigman has no other competition.
Weigman, is not going to risk riding the bench for his final year of eligibility. If Fritz tells Weigman he has to compete for the job, then he will either declare, Free Agency, or transfer.
Why not?
He can’t throw lol. With Zeon, we might as well run what Rice is running on offense. I’ll give him credit for the win @ TCU last season. But other than that, it was an ugly season.
5 or 6 wins? Weigman is 4-0 in games he played against SEC competition. He has UH on the verge of a 10 win season. He’d be fine as long as he landed on a team with a decent line.
He’s likely an 8+ win QB in the SEC if he doesn’t get injured. No matter the conference, he’s going to tear it up.
The SEC isn’t that much better than the Big 12, 1-2 win differential at most.
Yes and then got hurt and got benched
What elite programs did he receive offers from in the portal besides auburn
You can’t be serious
The SEC is multiples more competitive than the Big 12
If he doesn’t get injured? Sure. But he did get injured. And proceeded to get benched.
The injuries are what deterred programs away. Hell, I had my doubts in the preseason about his health. But so far, he’s been healthy enough. Very grateful for Wiggy.
Multiple my A**
If your ranking is because of your last name, maybe you do sit.
And this is what SEC fans bring up when they say they want 5 SEC team in the CFP. Not saying you’re wrong.
Weigman has had good highs and bad lows. Some of those lows were compensated by the defense, and some unfortunately weren’t (such as WVU)
That level of inconsistency doesn’t justify Keisean redshirting. That’s my point.
If Weigman was a truly elite QB at Bama, and Keisean committed to Bama, then yes by all means redshirt and wait your turn. → it’s Bama.
UH is not Bama.
UH will never get the QB depth of an SEC school, thus, Weigman will likely compete (if he stays) with Keisean for QB1.
But as I’ve pointed out, I doubt Weigman will risk riding bench for his final year of eligibility.
If Keisean was a 3 star or even a 4 star, then perhaps there’s an argument to redshirt.
Geez dude, what’s your beef with our starting QB? Dudes lead us to an 8-2 start and a T-25 ranking and you can’t help but put the guy down. If we’re lucky enough to get him back for his senior year we’ll have a great shot at making the winning the league and making the playoff. Henderson would be able to come in his freshman year and be the understudy and provide insurance in case of injury. Thats a great situation to be in. All but maybe a handful of programs (if that) would kill to have that setup for their QB room.
I’m saying they’re completely wrong, why did the TU and OU go into the SEC and perform just as well if not better in the SEC than they did in the Big 12? Yeah I know its only been 2 years, but the conference hasn’t done much for the perceived competition on my end (when it comes to Big 12 to SEC).
They shouldn’t have 5 teams in the CFB, that’s complete bs coming from the media.
Also, remove ND from the CFB. BYU DESERVES THAT SPOT AND WE ALL KNOW IT.
If the Big 12 wants more bids for the CFP, then they have to produce 3-4 consistent contenders every year.
That’s the key → consistent.
If the top teams of the Big 12 rotate year after year, then it’s very difficult to measure the talent.
Whereas the SEC will typically produce the same core elite teams as contenders every single year similar to the B1G.
That’s why they have leverage and we don’t.
He really only laid an egg vs WVU. Against Tech, I can’t blame him entirely for that one. I certainly did not expect us to beat them. They are a juggernaut with a realistic chance at making a deep playoff run.
Edit - @ UCF, he wasn’t great. But still did enough to help us get the win…
chill out dude, you’re superiority complex is tiring. No one is complaining; made an observation. Same observation others have noticed
I don’t have beef.
You are looking at my point in the wrong perspective.
Weigman is good but has flaws (hence why he’s at UH and not at an elite SEC or B1G school).
Weigman right now does not justify Keisean redshirting. That’s all I’m saying.
Keisean chose to come to UH despite having the choice of going anywhere.
When Weigman was in the portal, the offers weren’t there besides the Auburns and Iowas of the world.
