Buy your next Chevy from…

Fertita Chevrolet. Is this Uncle Tilman’s new endeavor? He already owns the Houston Rolls Royce and Bentley dealership.

Norman Frede Chevrolet. My dad and Norman were best buds growing up in La Grange.

It’s a bit interesting one to but. It’s in a neighborhood not on the freeway like most dealerships

Chevy’s quality is gonna have to get a lot better to get me to switch back from Toyota

That said, Toyota ain’t what it used to be either

I bought 3 new Chevys over the years

2 from Yoakum Chevrolet…a 2003 Suburban and a 95 Lumina…good folks down there

A 2014 Traverse LTZ from Lone Star Chevrolet off 290. The salesman was a fellow parishioner so was a good experience. That Traverse at 160k miles still going strong.

May go see uncle Tilman for my next Chevy.

I have always bought fords not because they are better than anyone else but because they always stand behind their product. They have covered many repairs out of warranty. I’ve owned 3 f150s and 3 f250s

GM reportedly recalling Chevy, GMC, Cadillac trucks and SUVs

General Motors has reportedly recalled a heap of trucks and SUVs after a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration probe of incidents related to the engine common to the vehicles.

The investigation, launched in January, focused on General Motors vehicles equipped with the L87 V8 engine, which are in an estimated 877,000 vehicles on the road, according to the NHTSA investigation report.

Good.

I have a V6. No worries here.

I’ve 6.0 liter 2018, so in the clear.

That recall is a biggie though.

  • Connecting rods
  • Crankshaft

Sounds like an inspection can be done and it might warrant an engine replacement if it doesn’t pass. No data on the percent of vehicles that
may fail the inspection.

This is an another example of why EVs are superior than the hundreds of components in an ICE; any single component defect can result in catastrophic
failure. Keep pushing for EV battery improvements.

A few years ago I considered buying a new truck. I planned to trade my 2002 Frontier & my Ford sedan with 250k.

Then I saw the price of a new truck. I donated the sedan to Catholic Charities, kept the Frontier and bought a used Avalon with 14k miles.

Buying a $60k depreciating asset just isn’t in the cards for a thrifty person like me.

Smart

The Chevy v8s with cylinder deactivation have a lot of issues. The Ford Coyote v8 does not seem to have those issues.

No problems with mine. Been rock solid,
knock on wood, and is used like truck is supposed to be used.
