The significant downside to teams loaded with 5 star talent is that none of those guys want to go there and not start.

That is probably is true. Even still, the injury excuse bothers me. Every team has to deal with injuries and sickness.

Top recruits aren’t going to spend their freshman or sophomore year on the bench.
With the portal and NIL these days, some players won’t even take a redshirt year.

Which is why Kentucky only got one championship from the Calipari era with all the 5 stars and McDonalds All-Americans but even then their championship was all on Anthony Davis.
