Yeah they better get the darn pass defense fixed, we pretty much have to win out for big 12 title shot, not gonna happen if we keep playing soft

I posted on another thread that Coogs’ radio crew was saying Coogs were playing zone and running plain D schemes to not put anything on tape for conference.

That said, the kids need to be better against lesser competition.

Also, the coaching staff needs to raise their game. Not prepping for the onside kick is inexcusable.

Why are we assuming TCU is good? They’re 0-2 against P4 teams, and it’s not like UNC has exactly been super convincing either.

It seems teams make their catch of the year when they play againat our pass defense. Georgia Southern had a few nice ones.

This type of zone againt a pass heavy offense is a recipe for disaster and greatly diminishes the effectiveness of our great offense.

While the players were exexuting like they didn’t want to be there, the space left from this scheme asks some questions around DC planning

I think the defense is going to stand steady when needed, are they going to be elite top 10
 no. Do they need to improve the scheme and excution on pass, yes.

Let’s give them credit for this steel wall of a run defense though. ~60 yards of rushing given per game.

We know what to work in, iron it out and beat UCF

Our defense totally needs to change. DB needs to turn and look for the ball. The zone D is too soft. My 4 win projection is still possible with this current D.

Our defense allowed 289 yards passing to a glorified JuCo team today. We won’t play the Uturds this year but if we did we would give up 500+

We had the Run-n-Shoot offense back in the 90’s.

We have a “Pleaae Drop the Pass” defense today.

In all of the games I have ever watched, the winning team had to outscore the other team. But, a defense helps.
