Can we beat Arizona State?

The stadium didn’t fill up until the Memphis game in 2015. Herman complained about it all season. 2016 was a bit better after beating Oklahoma and winning the peach bowl. Everything has to be perfect for something like that to happen though. Not just beating Tech.

Like I said… it doesn’t fill up until we’re ranked… go look at attendance in games where UH is ranked.

If we had beaten Tech we would’ve been ranked.

That still wouldn’t have been enough to fill the stadium at that start time with this fanbase.

From 2015 after we were ranked…

We had a sold out stadium against UCONN on a Thursday night in 2016. We were #6 at that time I think. Fans only show up if we’re ranked or if the opponent is.

That’s literally what I just showed above… see the Navy game that started at 11am CST… We weren’t even ranked that game because we lost at UConn the week before.

I don’t understand what beating Arizona State in Tempe has to do with our 2015 attendance at TDECU. Can someone share an architectural diagram of the connect here?

Weren’t we ranked 8th or something when we lost to UConn? I’m pretty sure we were still ranked when we played Navy.

Out of all the attendance killers, 11am games sits at the top and it’s not close, IMHO. Students are still nursing hangovers and families have family things to do.

It was the Friday after Thanksgiving at 11am against a ranked Navy team with a Heisman candidate in Keenan Reynolds.

We were not playing the usual Navy team since it was a spot in the conference championship on the line for both UH and Navy.

Yep… a ranked team after us being ranked… that’s when we get good crowds.

If we were ranked against Zona at least 5k more show… or if Zona was ranked…

Oh wait… we didn’t have to move that game since everyone was traveling for Thanksgiving.

According to Nuñez logic there’s no way we could’ve put that many people in the stands on a holiday weekend… should’ve moved it to Wednesday…/s

Had we beat Tech the hype train would’ve been rolling… If we beat ASU it will start rolling again!

19th and then we dropped out completely after just one loss.

Bottom line is we just need to win every game. It’s science.

I mean… tOSU, Bama, UGA, UT, etc. have strong track records of winning most of their games each season.

We don’t have that track record… we have strong periods followed by falling off the proverbial cliff.

Our defense doesn’t give up the deep pass.

But, of late its Linebackers & Safeties being forced to tackle in space & not doing it

The long touchdown to Texas Tech RB - #0 Blake Thompson missed tackle

1st half vs Arizona- Kentrell Webb #8, missed two tackles

Mistakes happen, its football. but dump off passes to the Running Back, that could go 3 yrds & go 8+ yrds. Thats certainly been a pattern since, I think Oregon State game

That’s also the game where I was on the news with a Whose House, Coogs House!

They were amping me up to go nuts in the camera… I have that clip somewhere.

We are a 7 - 7.5 dog. That is amazing to me. At the start of the season someone told me we would be a TD dog to a playoff team with a returning QB, I’d have taken that bet.

Of course we can.

However, we need to try to hold their QB to a completion percentage less than the last guy who completed 24-26 and of the 2 incompletions, one was by a D lineman.

Let’s try and stay closer to their receivers and backs !!

Our zone defense had more holes than a colander

I thought we took the “Bend but don’t break” motto a little too far.

However, we won the game.

They had 8 possessions and sxored TDs on 4 of them. Need to keep some of those to FGs.

When will the updated injury list be released? Very interested on ASU QB and WR
