We will get our teeth kicked in 52-17.
Well into the 4th quarter Tech lead Utah 10-3. Then Utah fell apart.
Tech can be defeated.
Definitely
If last night was a case of looking ahead… Ahead is NOW!!
Fans seem to think how you play one team is how yall play all teams. Its not that simple
As as objective Tech fan this game scares me more than any on our schedule. I originally saw it as a Tech victory but now see it as a toss up after last night. Here are my reasons:
- This week’s actions (or lack of for Tech)
Houston slugged out a gritty and determined win. Tech is on a bye week. Houston learned so much about themselves and how to work as a team. You guys got kicked in the mouth and still found a way to win. Your team will be prepared and understand how a game can go back and forth when all seems lost. We are sitting and doing nothing but reading articles about ourselves and comparing our easy win against OSU to your struggle last night. We won’t be prepared as we should be and you will be. - Defensive familiarity.
You know how our DC schemes and plans and thus can plan accordingly. We have little to prepare for other than what we see on film. Plus your guys will have a chip on their shoulder as their old DC left them for “greener pastures” (Lubbock is not green.) - It is a night game and a chance for Houston to showcase the rising advantage at home. This is a chance to prove to not just the Houston metro area and the rest of the state that UH is on the rise and knocking on the door of being a Texas powerhouse (as you are in Basketball.) This is the kind of game that can set the tone for years to come. If I were a top recruit I would rather live in Houston than Lubbock, imagine what a big win would do.
- All eyes are on Tech. A UH win would be a talking point for not just the next week, but every week after. Beating a top 10 team (I think Tech will be ranked 10 and you will be ranked much lower than you should be around 27-25 or so.)
- Strange things happen to Tech at night in Houston. You never know what will happen when Tech rolls into town. This could be the one hickup that shows others the blue print to beat Tech.
Prediction:
My heart says 48-24 Tech.
My head says 45-42 Tech, but one play by your monster TE would easily flip the score.
This was a trap game for UH.
Now it’s time for UH to be the trap game for Tech.
Go COOGS
Only way Houston beats Tech is if their starting QB is not playing.
Tech is winning this by a mile
There’s no way we’re getting into the 40s, at least in regulation. If we win, it’ll probably be a score a lot like last night’s.
I think Tech’s “backup” is better than their starter.
Tech’'s backup QB torched Utah. He’s a beast also.
Coogs need to be +3 turnover margin, less than 50 yds in penalties, and need either a special teams TD or a defensive TD.
Coogs can win, but it takes the whole team producing points. The Coogs offense just isn’t good enough to “outscore” Tech.
This whole thread is picking Tech so UH will win
I’m just thinking about the Texas game at TDECU. We had no business being in that game, maybe we prevail vs Tech. Stranger things have happened
What is our record against Tech since the R&S days??
1-11 or so. Not sure.
No, Utah was exhausted because they lacked depth. Tech has a lot of depth this year on both sides of the ball.
I don’t have confidence in our offense. Passing game is very mediocre and we don’t have the guys upfront to push Tech around. We need to mix in the hurry up. Our WR were finally getting separation. This Tech defense is no joke.
This thread is much more realistic with different users on here… At least yall know whats coming.
Yall looked very bad
GO RAIDERS
If I were Tech, I would come in confident as a #12 ranking would coming off a bye week. They have two good QB’s and a solid D, but that is why they play the games. Home field gets an advantage and it will be loud.
Weigman will struggle badly… barely could handle an oregon state defense that ranks almost the bottom in every category
Andre said it best, hurry up gets the players relaxed and not thinking, just playing, it also gets the D back on their heels. We will need to try something against tech, I do not want the seeing CW running as much as he did with CU. Having Burnett should help.
