He was good against Utah because they didn’t have a week to game plan for him.
Houston has film on Hammond and can game plan for him

Watch out for Cincy… they are kinda a sleeper this year in conference.
Their Sorsby qb is very talented.
Last night was probably the worst I’ve seen with a 2 score deficit ![]()
It was finally nice to see our WRs catch the ball in space.
So yalls confidence level heading into y’alls super bowl this weekend is a 1/10 huh
More than one like a 3 there are paths to victory but it’s pretty unlikely. Tech has to play poorly and we have to play really well and catch more than a few breaks.
Anything like last night and the game is over before half time
If this were any past Tech team I’d say yes. But I’ve seen more than I care to of them this year simply because I watch every game that’s on simultaneously if it involves the Big 12. They spent so much money in the trenches and their DL has allowed 3 points all season in the first half. In fact their starting DL has allowed 3 points total all season, including their game against Utah (the 3 points was with time running out in the 2nd quarter vs Utah).
At halftime they’ve led 125-3 through 4 games because no offense has been able to get anything going, and the 2nd half has only been better because their reserves have gotten significant playing time.
I’m interested to see how we stack up though because I think it will be, bar none, the best DL we’ll see this year. If we can manage to score the first TD on it all year I’ll be a happy camper. If not we’ll need to hope our D is giving their O fits and keep it a low scoring game in hopes of either forcing them into mistakes and/or Conner being the hero late to steal a close game. If our D isn’t able to contain them I’m afraid it will get out of hand by the 3rd Quarter.
But upsets happen all the time over teams that look superior on paper. As they say, that’s why you play the game.
Both their QBs are good, but Morton makes mistakes and isn’t very mobile, so hopefully their coaches will be loyal to him and let him start. Their running backs have been serviceable but definitely not the strength of their O.
Its Coogfans not Coogplayers
Hammond also has an expensive OL in front of him. Lots of QBs look great when they have all day to pass (or run in his case). What was impressive with him is it was against Utah’s front.
Beating Tech is a tall task, but anything is possible. We’ve beaten 4 relatively soft teams and Tech looks to be a juggernaut.
I hope for the Coogs to win, but I have my doubts.
Seems to me that Oregon State gave us trouble with their speed. If Tech is capable of that, we may have a bad time. If not then maybe its an ok matchup? We’ll see.
Can we beat Tech? We already did, by 66 points.

Tech is definitely one of the top teams in the country and the best we’ll see all season.
We will be at home, this will likely be the biggest crowd in TDECU’s history.
That said, I predict a 34-31 UH win. We owe the tortilla-peddlers a little something.
Good and incisive post, Vinnie. Thanks for visiting. hope its a great game next Saturday.
That is not why he was good against Utah.
I had to double check myself today. I thought I was in Lubbock when I went to a fast food place and my bill was $4.37. I gave the young whippersnapper a $5.00 bill and he literally had no idea what to do. He had to call a manager over and she had to teach him how to count out the change to give to me. Wow!
Go Coogs!
Man i just hope we win
Biggest concern to me is the offensive line. Their D-line will bully it.
I assume you’re either being facetious or showing sarcasm for those that were down on him when they thought we would lose. I hope nobody took that seriously, but so many on here don’t catch it.
It’s never over until it’s over.
