TDECU vs Louisville 2016
Thundersticks, Greg Ward, Ed Oliver, Duke Catalon… we were unranked and facing #5 Louisville at home.
Copying from a post I made in another thread
“ It was Bowser, Adams, Ward, King, Ed, Catalon, Davis, Taylor, Wilson, Egbule, Taylor, Hines, Johnson, Wilson, Smith, Fleming,
Do I go on? Half those guys made it on a Sunday roster m
Thanks to mister Chic-Fil-A”
I watch this game or the 2015 Memphis game when I need to get hyped for the future.
It was those players plus those players believing in the oil that Herman was selling. It was the perfect combo.
I broke my thunder sticks I hit them so hard together.
Can we go vertical?
you have to have a running threat to be able to go vertical.
Thank Spav & Gibbs, especially Spav
No, no time
The next week we lost at Memphis by four – in the eye twitch game – and then lost to SDSU in the LV Bowl by 24 with a depleted coaching staff. The crusher was losing at SMU, 38-16, two weeks prior to the LVille game. However we were 8-2 when we played the Cards.
Howard Wilson was our leading tackler (6) in the SMU game. Big Ed had just three tackles. Ponies had seven sacks to none for the Coogs.
Them days are gone just memories now
I watch the comeback vs Pitt.
Why do people keep harping on “snake oil” when referring to CTH? Say what you want about the man but he delivered big time.
When was the last time UH was that relevant in the national scene? We had a brief moment with CKS, but CTH had us consistently in the conversation for two seasons.
So what if he left for UT? Sorry, but if I have an opportunity to get more money and more recognition at a new firm I am going to take it, and so would 90 percent of you.
Of course CDH says this is his last job because it IS HIS LAST JOB! He will not get hired by anyone outside of JMU or ODU if he is fired at UH. To me that is not a positive.
I would take CTH or for that matter CKS over the current mess we are dealing with under CDH any day of the week.
He did lots of things that were dishonest. I don’t feel like typing up all of them, but for example all the preaching about family and then taking almost all of the staff before the bowl game was pretty crappy. I know a departing head coach oftentimes will not stay on, but we were down to like 2 or 3 people on the staff for the bowl game. I believe its unusual for almost the entire staff to abandon the team and I don’t understand why they did.
Well we had Ed and ward. Just show up then we can recruit back to that
Ward was a once in a generation talent for UH. Ed only came here because of his brother and because UH hired his high school coach.
Ed would’ve been playing in Death Valley had it not been for those 2 specific factors
Ward would be playing wideout if Dana was the coach back then.
Facts!
We would have been stuck at 7-5 with JOK at QB, no question. In that case, it is likely we would not have been invited to the Big 12, as we would not have had the two great seasons under CTH.
