Case is destined to be a coach soon

Didn’t Coach Saban win a Natty at LSU b4 going to NFL to Coach the Dolphins. Maybe I’m misremembering.

He was an Asst Coach for around 15 yrs in College b4 taking on asst job in NFL for abt 5 yrs, then back to College ranks as Asst Coach b4 getting HC - LSU in early 2000’s.

The point is that Saban did much better coaching at the college level. Not everyone is destined to be an NFL coach.
Case might be one of those. Just my hunch

You are remembering correctly.

Keenum coming here is a pipe dream. He’s still on the Texans roster and wouldn’t shock me if he does coach its in the NFL. He’s a Cougar legend, why would he want to come here and risk tarnishing that because after a 4 or 5 win season knuckleheads would be saying he’s in over his head, much like they are with a proven HC in Fritz. Who knows what Keenum wants to do, but he can afford to do nothing if he wants when his playing career is over.

Bryce Beall was on Lets Rage Coogs postgame after Baylor. He has talked with Case and said Case will be coaching in college one day, sooner rather than later.

I don’t think he’s ready to be OC but certainly QB coach. I think he would also drive up interest in UH football. It’s worth it if he’s interested.

Well…i think it is universally accepted that his playing career is over after this season.

So…he has 6 options.

Remember family is important to him.

  1. take some time off

  2. stay in Houston- take a lower tier NFL coaching job with the Texans

  3. stay in Houston- take a QB/ Assistant OC type college coaching job with the Cougars or Rice

  4. take a lower tier NFL coaching job with another NFL team which would require him to move his family

  5. take a coaching job with a non Houston College which would require him to move his family

  6. Give up on Football and start a new post football career.

Anyone want to bet which option he chooses?

“Accepted” ? Did Case tell you he was retiring? Case will let us know soon enough what HE wants to do.

yes…the Texans put him on Injured reserve without a real injury…burning a full year of him even being able to play a single snap…even if Stroud went down!

It was a move to make him an unofficial coach.

His playing days are O-V-E-R and hey, he had a great career!

Case told you he was retiring from playing? Thank you for letting us know. Come on, it is likely but we have no clues.

Case’s career earnings are $51,934,877, his net worth is estimated to be around $25 million. I think that after his tithes and taxes, he has been wise with his money and doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t like. (BTW, these net worth estimates don’t actually know what his investments are or how much they have grown.)

that’s why I said “I think” it’s universally accepted but hey…maybe a team throws a contract at him to be a player/mentor for a young QB draft pick.

But even under that scenario, it would be similar to option 4.

If he played in 2025, he would have played in 4 games since 2022 amassing 1 TD and 3 INTs over that time.

We won’t see him on the field again
