I see some Viking fans say Case will never be the QB to take them to the super bowl but most seem to appreciate that he is getting the job done. They have seen poor backups long enough to know they have a good one. Most say sign him long term.
Smartā¦
Thatās a good read. Our Case is winning people over.
Starting to look like barring bad play Case will start for the duration of 2017.
In other words he will be directly responsible for leading a team to the playoffs (they are the 2 seed currently).
Thatās something I didnāt think would happen a year ago.
An objective look at the āBridgewater vs. Keenumā situation.
Much of the ādiscussionā we see is often just clichĆ©s. Itās nice to see one doing an actual comparison with quantifiable stats.
I donāt know much about the NFL and contracts and such, but it seems that the Vikings would be best served to trade or drop Bradford, sign Keenum now to a long term deal and plan to have Keenum and Bridgewater fight it out for starter next year (keeping Keenum starting for the remainder of the year).
I believe all three of Keenum, Bradford, and Bridgewater are free agents at the end of the year. Thereās almost no chance that Bradford will return to the team.
A lot of the push for Bridgewater to start is to see if heās worth keeping beyond this year as he really hasnāt been able to show his potential up to this point due to injuries. Of course, that would make sense if the team wasnāt leading their division, but doesnāt make much sense now.
The local media and the National sports media has created this controversy. Any other Team with a 6-2 record would jump in joy. The fact that Case does not fit the āNFL QB normā is at the core of this.
It seems as if everyone wants him to fail except the die hard Vikings fans, his team mates and us. So far he is the 2017 N.F.L. story. He should be treated as such. Just compare how the National media talks about Case vs any other NFL QBās. It is night and day.
Case & Sam unrestricted free agents in 2018.
Team option for Teddy B.
Case has huge raise coming from someone. Arizona? Jacksonville? etc
That option year for Teddy scares me. How could they not play him to see if he still has it:?
āBut, remember he is not our backup, Case Keenum is our third string field general. Could he be the first ever third-string quarterback to lead a team to the promise land?ā
The reference is āPromised Landā, as written in the Bible. Iāve seen āpromise landā used in various fan forums. Cāmon, college grads, get it right when you write.
Ewww. I know these are pro teams but outside of Cleveland Iād really hate to see Case Keenum don these twoās uniforms.
The outcomes over the next few weeks will answer our questions.
Case is smart enough to know what kind of team he needs to be a winner. Likely not to go to Cleveland but Arizona and Jacksonville both have good defensive teams. It is going to go to his looking at the O line and receivers on both.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Vikings activated quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the 53-man roster at the same time they placed Bradford on IR. Bridgewater returned to practice on Oct. 18, less than 14 months after the devastating knee injury he suffered in August 2016.
Case Keenum has played all or most of the last seven games for Minnesota (Bradford did try to play in Week 5 but couldnāt finish the game) and has been serviceable, though heās thrown an interception in each of his last three outings.
With Aaron Rodgers on the shelf for Green Bay, the NFC North is definitely there for the Vikings to win, and putting Bridgewater back in charge of the offense, once the coaches deem heās game-ready, might be the boost the team needs to win the division and head into the playoffs.
Itās not easy being a Coog.
CBS had an article the other day talking about how Keenum will remain the starter, because heās earned it. The Vikings would be crazy to make any change right now at 6-2.
